PK-08 is a G-3 technology if i am not wrong and it comes with a 5.56mm cartridge which puts it out of the race , also it lacks some thing we call , The night vision & targeting sights which we cannot make.

Where as HK-417 uses 7.62 mm cartridge and accommodates a G-3 magazine which means it will save nearly a million rounds and magazines from being wasted.

the rate of fire is 600 rounds per minute and this will never break down in middle of the battle.

it uses a accessory diopter/rotary or optics as a sighting system which can convert it into a mini sniper rifle at any time .

Turkey's company MKEK manufactures this german gun under license from H&K and MKEK has an MOU with POF for the production of HK-416 and 417 and the Sniper Rifle up in the image.

Plus, the under barrel grenade launchers tech should also be gotten, its gonna be very helpful in future warfare.

I know but its not just sights that cannot match HK series but its also the quality that matters in terms of circumstances that our soldiers will fight in ie , Sand , Water and mud.

G-3 cannot be used in Antarctic conditions ie Siachin and it also have been a long time trouble in temperatures more than 40c if constantly fired as you do in the battle.

Multiple problems ie Size , Weight and G-3 cannot be used in full auto mode because its just not accurate.

Yes indeed... Our new rifle will be a littile bit "copy" of other proved rifle examples developed before. If you check the statements of Turkish officials about this program, You are going to see that They have already checked both USA M-4 and Germany HK-416-17 Rifles to develop our owns. They implied that M-4 has an overheat problem with its barrel so MKEK will produce M1913 piccatiny rail for Turkish rifle program to bring short this problem and Proved HK G36 patented gas mechanizm will be produced Because Officials want New 7.62 rifle to stay operational in sand, mud and water conditions...
