Pre Erdogan rule the Kurds didn't rule anything in the region. Post Erdogan rule, the PKK in Syria gained a large foothold legitimized by the US. Kurds in Iraq grew. Back in 1991 they were still hopping on mountains, before that they(armed millitant kurds) didn't have a mountain to hop on freely.

Israel didn't directly support Hezbollah, whereas Erdogan directly supports them. Some will say he supports KDP not PKK. KDP supplied and shared arms with the PKK, same political agenda different means to achieve it.

Infact considering that, that wouldn't be too far-fetched given that Israel has interests in causing inner strive. If they can get the Lebanese army and Hezbollah to fight one another/get into a stand off they succeed. Centralized, large united armies are a threat to Israel.
