The problem is China produced not just cheap plastic but advance product like high speed rail, Tunnel boring machine, high end commercial drone like DJI mavic and of cos personal computer and smartphone. Even high end bicycle like carbon fiber frame can produced by a few countries due to dual use of carbon fiber for military aircraft. China is definitely one of them and the technology is strictly control. Maybe u want to say Bangladesh can easily replace all this in 2-3years time.

Fellows, the reason all of the smart phones and other IT stuff is being manufactured in China is due to RARE EARTHs material. China is the the World's Biggest Producer of 'Rare Earths'. Even the US is dependent on China since 'Rare Earth' is also used in Military weapons including missiles. So people who think that the smartphone manufacturing can be transferred to another country are highly IGNORANT. Because If China stops the supply of Rare Earth, no country can manufacture smartphones on the scale and cost China can produce.

One of my relatives recently returned from a study in Shanghai. She was disappointed of many low quality stuffs everywhere. Ok you make some good things as HSR, but the rest like chinese cars are almost made for trash bins.

We need to take advantage of this as much as possible. So when tariffs are lifted China has a hard time getting back in the game.

One of my relatives recently returned from a study in Shanghai. She was disappointed of many low quality stuffs everywhere. Ok you make some good things as HSR, but the rest like chinese cars are almost made for trash bins.

Most of the Chinese products can be made in Viet or BD. Except some very high end products. With dedication to reverse engineering even that might be possible in a decade.
