Trump Blocks Fighter Jet Transfer Amid Deepening U.S.-Turkey Rift

Tell you what? Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, China, Iran, Cuba, North Korea and all these countries bullied by America should pool their resources together and make a JSF way better than America's JSF and give America the big fat middle finger.

Cuba, Iran and North Korea would have next to nothing to contribute. As for Russia, they seem more interested in working with India. China is also pretty close to finishing their 5th gen fighters, so I don't see why they'd want to contribute.

A Pakistan/Turkey collaboration would be good though, and Iran could tag along if they wish just so there can be extra funding for the programme.

F-16 is an air superiority fighter,

*multi-role

It is not about generation but roles of fighters determining to be competitive to replace obsolete one. F-16 is an air superiority fighter, while F-35 is primarily designed to be a ground attack stealth fighter. F-35 is going to replace F-4 Terminators, While TF-X will replace F-16’s.
F-15 is the air superiority fighter..F-16 has the same role as the F-35 mainly a ground attack fighter and a dog fighter..look at the engine pattern.. the F-4 is a 3rd generation fighter.. that will be a one generation jump....and even then the F-4 replacements were the F-15 and F-14, while the F-16 replaced the F-5 instead of the F-20..

After this much feuds, is it at all prudent for Turkey to have F-35s at the first place??? God knows how much they'll be doctored!!!! Thanks God that both Turkey and Pak are pursuing their own FGFA programs!!! Time to think out-of-the box!!!!!

Erdogan need to react like the Saudi's did. Turkey should kick out the American ambassador and recall its own. This is a big insult for a NATO member, that too one who paid for its fair share.

President Trump respects those who can bully him back. Learn a lesson from North Korea.

Don't be submissive like the Iranian government.

Up the ante!!

Trump Is the First President to Get Turkey Right
Good riddance to the so-called strategic relationship between Washington and Ankara.

last Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan published an op-ed in the New York Times outlining his country’s grievances toward the United States. The Turkish leader raised valid concerns about U.S. policy that genuinely vex Turkish leaders and citizens alike. Yet Erdogan only told half the story, leaving his readers to believe that Washington has victimized a reliable ally and partner. The United States has long had its own list of grievances, however—and it’s to the Trump administration’s credit that, unlike its predecessors, it finally seems to be doing something about it.

U.S. grievances include Ankara’s plans to buy the S-400 advanced air-defense system from Russia; because Turkey will both operate the F-35, the newest high-tech jet in the American military inventory, and depend on Russia for maintenance and spare parts for the S-400, Moscow will be in a position to glean valuable intelligence on how to detect the plane. The Turks have also complicated the U.S. fight against the self-declared Islamic State, first by forcing the United States to negotiate for a year over the use of Incirlik Air Base, and then through their incursion into northern Syria, targeting Washington’s Kurdish allies. Against this backdrop, President Erdogan himself threatened U.S. troops in Syria.

That is not the first time Turkey has faced an arm embargo. Most of Turkish defence institutes have been established when US put an embargo with pointing a reason of achieving Cyprus Peace Operation against Greek Cypriots in 1974. From that time to today, Turkey is working hard to stand on own knees. That is the reason Turkish nation have an extreme ambitious to reach satisfactory self reliance. Today, We are able to meet around %65 needs of total Armed Forces inventory. Within 5-8 years, I suppose that This figure will rise up sharply thanks to many strategic subsyatem and component projects that is cumulated under hundreds of complete product projects. We have a safe roadway and proceeding towards our targets with sure steps. When we stationed into the place where we are envisaged, Those threats will be empty enough to close our ears since Turks aim to have very active industry whose products provide strong deterrance to change the stability of regions in favour of Turkish benefits. That is an open threat for some nations who has long term divide/rule plans in geographies where we have influence over. That is the reason We are inside of the sabotage list that is activated with using different instruments to spread a negative shockwave over us. An active and strong Turkey having arms in own region and mostly influence area is an open threat for same states who has expanding/stealing/backstanbbing ambitious over other’s lands/seas so It is seen that Interests are going to collapse for sure in near future. Gangs are going to be more active to serve for the interests of their masters as much as they can while Turkish defence industry injects fresh blood inside the veins of Turkish Army every passing months.

Whether they know it or not, Trump really just did them a big favor.

US blocks arms sales to Turkey. Guess what? Turkey can go for MiG-35. America isn't the only country that can make AESA.

Turkey is also another country that is able to develop own AESA.

Lol they can't make a plane better than F-35 Even coming together not yet..... F-35 will be the best plane you can buy till around 2030 I expect......

100 F-35???? Why does Turkey need so many???
100 F-35 which add lustre to any air force.... making it top class air force... country with 100 f-35 has an awesome air force...... With 100 F-35 you would have better air force than Russia and India...Pakistan......

Whether they know it or not, Trump really just did them a big favor.
Not really F-35 is the best exportable plane a country can buy... F-22 not up for export...

But it's not so easy to develop.

Aselsan develops land-naval-airborne AESA Radars ( GAN based ) only a few countries in the world

-- 450 km CAFRAD Naval Radar for TF-2000 Destroyer
-- 600+ km EIRS Early Warning Radar for HISAR-U Air Defense System
-- Airborne AESA Radar for TF-X 5th gen Fighter Jet
