Trump announces Israel-Morocco to normalize relations

As an Emirati living in the Capital, this is the first time I hear of this poll. Care to share details and sources please

The UAE government and the people of the UAE want the best for Palestinian people and we will continue to support them however possible. This peace treaty with Israel does not mean we do not support Palestine or Palestinians. I believe the same applies to Morocco and the great people of Morocco.

I am amused how many on here think the opposite. Immature way of thinking to say the least and a severe lack of vision.

This poll is just one example....

Only 20% Emiratis approve of contacts with Israel

Anyways, UAE's role in the wider Muslim world has been that of a disruptor in a negative way.

.
that in no way answers my question

so pakistan supports palestinians because it was the right thing to do

so what about Ozbek?? what about Tajiks?? What about Kazakhs?? What about Circassians??? What about Turkmens??? What about Kyrgiz??? What about Volga Tatars??? What about Crimean Tatars??? What about Lipka Tatars??? What about karakalpaks???

were they not muslims??

when these people were being suppressed and persecuted, Pakiland was busy asking the Soviets to build a brand new national steel mill for them
Uh that was only in ZAB era, and ZAB was pretty much a socialist, we gave the Soviets a beating next decade in the Soviet-Afghan War and struck the first main blow which led to the eventual decline of the Soviet Union.

Please comment while knowing history, we will take revenge for every oppressed Muslim community, if not now then later. We couldn't help the Central Asian Muslims being persecuted under the Soviets in the 70s, but in the 80s we sealed the fate of Soviet expansionism in Asia. Use common sense as well, Pakistan wasn't the US that it could be helping everyone the entire time, we hardly had an economy, and were well in the third world list. Whenever we get the chance, we'll help our Muslim brothers. We helped the Chechens, helped the Bosnians, are helping the Afghans today to rid themselves of Western foreign oppression. As far as Uyghurs are concerned, Pakistan is in a position of weakness right now, but mark my words, revenge will be taken for every Muslim life lost. Just like we always do, it not now then later.

And honestly, everyone of you countries, you can recognize Israel, might even change religion one day, but Pakistan stands with the values of our founders, and the Israelis will never be recognized until the Palestinians are ok with it, which they are not. Do remember that your own races, and Israeli Muslim citizens don't enjoy the same rights as Jews in that country. Even Gandhi was better than you all in this matter.
Honestly though, study the Quran, I am no judge, that power is with Allah Himself, but read the Quran, the Ahadith, and you will know what is right and wrong.

So many questions arise from reading through that link !

- how many participated in the poll ?
- how were the participants verified as being citizens of the UAE ?
- how was the poll conducted ? email ? link ? sms ? website ? social media ?

personally, i believe any citizen of any country would rather their gov. not get involved in wars around the world , but when a nation grows in importance and due to diplomatic obligations , they sadly must take part ... politics....

also , how has the UAE been a disruptor ? if you are a MB, houthi, shia supporter , then i understand and agree with you , but if you aren't any of those , i don't get it ..

.
I see it as the end game, those who will follow Dajjal and those will fight against them. 'Greater Israel' is in the making.

.
Didn’t Iran host our enemy number one india on our western border inside that sea port both called it a strategic strengthening move of ties. between them and hell with Pakistan concerns point us every one is back stabbing snd selling out each other not just some Arab kingdoms some of you are always fixated with the Arabs

The main blow to Soviets was when the Chinese switched sides in the late 60s early 70s from USSR to USA. If China had not switched sides and continued to support USSR. No doubt USSR would still be around today.

I'm talking about military blows here, not diplomatic ones, but you have a point.

That is like Pakistan getting the US to recognize Kashmir as part of its territory.

No, that's not true at all.

For starters the US recognizing Kashmir as Pakistani territory wouldn't mean anything the same way them recognizing it as Indian territory wouldn't what matters is what Pakistan and India recognize and agree to.

Armenia continued its occupation of Azeri lands for almost 30 years irrespective of UN resolutions and the OEC Minsk group, which the US is a part of, recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories as Azeri lands.

In the end either both parties move on or they wage a war and to the victor go the spoils. Azerbaijan decided that war was the best recourse and resolved in 6 weeks what 26 years of negotiations despite Western objections crying “negotiations were the only answer”... apparently they weren’t.

Surrender? they're getting western Sahara LOL

Morocco got a good deal because of Western Sahara recognition.

Morocco just got recognition of Western Sahara.

The issue is that Trump's personal recognition does not reflect the views of the UN nor does it even reflect the views of the US which is a party to a host of UNSC resolutions that accompanied a UN brokered ceasefire in 1991 that legally required Morocco to allow a referendum in the Western Sahara in what is recognized by the UNGA as an act of colonialism.
UN position on Moroccan sovereignty over Sahara ‘unchanged’ by US recognition

This is particularly important in light of UN Resolution 37/43 which guarantees the right to armed resistance particularly for a colonized peoples:
https://unispal.un.org/DPA/DPR/unispal.nsf/0/BAC85A78081380FB852560D90050DC5F

Would Biden follow suit? Who knows but this is the future US President who wants to re-enter the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action which Trump earlier removed the US from.

You even have long time Trump supporters like Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe slamming the deal which he describes as selling out the people of the Western Sahara.

However, I just don't see Morocco being a nation of any consequence so it's likely the US will simply continue to ignore this conflict the same way they ignored Armenia's occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh that is until larger power players get involved.

Isn't it just the fact that Islamist-minded Pakistanis such as yourself detest peace? that you thrive on endless wars and divisions? especially when you don't have to fight in any wars or be personally affected, but you sit in your couch in Birmingham deriding people in another region trying to make peace.

So 88% of the 28,288 Arabs polled across 13 MENA countries, which included Morocco, oppose recognizing Israel and another unrepresentative Arab regime that restricts our brothers and sisters right to be free to choose a representative government isn’t our business?
http://arabcenterdc.org/survey/the-2019-2020-arab-opinion-index-main-results-in-brief/

Furthermore what you stated sounds pretty hypocritical and ill informed because if this was the case wouldn't Morocco abide by its international and legal obligations to enact a referendum as agreed to under the 1991 UN backed ceasefire that ended the fighting in the Western Sahara to secure a peaceful future?

I agree with you that one shouldn't be advocating for war when they aren't willing to fight in it themselves but what makes you believe that he wouldn't fight in a future war for our nations survival and liberation of our lands under occupation?

I come from a military family, a lot of my family comes from Sialkot, Narowal and Kashmir that's only a few kilometres from the Pakistan-India border which faced attacks in 1965 (both my parents were teens in the middle of that war and my grandfather fought in it) and would face shelling once again. Had I been raised in Pakistan I would have joined the Armed Forces and if a war breaks out and my country needs me I'll be there.

A lot of us have the financial means and freedom to pick up a gun to fight in our ongoing war against hegemonic Hindu terrorism but those of us who have good jobs and people like me who also achieve healthy investment returns are better off sending foreign exchange back to our homeland to support its economy.

Pakistan isn't a nation that needs more people on the front lines in the army, there are millions who could be inducted if we had the resources. It's a nation that needs the resources.

We know what is required of us.

What a fool! Arabs have waged wars, have lost hundreds of thousands of people for a futile cause. If Muslims recognized Israel, we would still have had two thirds of Palestine; if Muslims had recognized Israel in 1967 we would have still had half of Palestine; if we recognized Israel in 2000, we would still have had a third of Palestine. However, because of ignorant loud mouth keyboard warriors and fanatics like you, we have squat shit.

Arabs have waged wars? The 6 day "war" was literally 6 days, the Yom Kippur "war" was 18 days.

Furthermore how many of those wars did Morocco participate in?

These monarchies aren't about protecting Muslims, Arabs or even their own people they're about protecting themselves.

Should Gamal Abdel Nasser have recognized Israel and been content with British/French control over the Suez in pursuit of “peace”?

Should Azerbaijan have spent another 50 years at the negotiating table, after having spent 26 years prior, living in "peace" while negotiating for the return of their own lands?

If Morocco was attacked and the Western Sahara was taken over for its rich Phosphate rock deposits, a critical resource desired by most nations, you'd be fine with that and move on?

Peace or arab surrender???

Look at this little Zionist begging Pakistan to recognize Israel. It won't happen bitch. Beg harder.

Al Aqsa is worth standing for,, duck the Arabs

So the promise of peace and prosperity from two countries which have ravaged Middle East, is the price for Palestenian life and land. Amazing, dude, keep it up.

You need to understand that these nations are ruled by despotic regimes that have no love for their own people just look at what Assad has done in Syria or Bahrain’s despot did to peaceful protesters using our own people inducted into their security forces to help them do it.

Just a few years prior they were attempting to get Pakistan and Turkey to do the same in Yemen but thankfully our leadership said no.

As per the 2019-2020 Arab Opinion Index approximately 88% of the 28,288 Arabs polled across 13 MENA countries, which included Morocco, oppose recognizing Israel:
http://arabcenterdc.org/survey/the-2019-2020-arab-opinion-index-main-results-in-brief/

Don’t blame our brothers/sisters in Morocco, they are disposed and oppressed, they are not free to form a representative government. The tyrants and their stooges will always hate peace, they’ll sell out their own people and murder them like stray dogs and it’s them who have betrayed the poor Palestinian peoples through their stooges like Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority.

It’s our own governments and people that were fools for having sided with and assisted in keeping despots in power within Muslim nations and we need to correct our mistake but to help bring freedom to our fellow Muslims Pakistan needs to first help itself and build up its economy and military force such that we can liberate the oppressed.

We need to work with committed allies like Turkey and China while growing ties with Malaysia and even nations like Tunisia, Libya and beyond.

This is going to be an arduous task, we need our peoples committed to it and we need to work hard in our daily lives to help make it happen.

belief that certain nations will come to our rescue in case of war

I wouldn't go that far considering considering in the 3 wars we've fought with India not a single one of them ever came to our defense.

What will a group of nations that combined could not take on a nation less than 1/50th their size do for Pakistan that's been facing an enemy 10x larger?

However, I think you're right that we've hampered our own progress because unconsciously in the back of our minds we've been hoping for something that would never come.

So is this a good thing because it now gets our people focused on developing our industry and building up our power projection capabilities?

Our problem isn't that we can't forge collective defense ties it's that we've been attempting to forge them with the wrong nations and instead of focusing on industrialization and conquest we've been stupidly focused on protecting Arab despots.

I agree with you, we must depend on ourselves but we should seek to forge strong alliances with like minded allies who seek power not subservience and the status quo to eventually build a bloc that agrees to collective defense.
