GWADAR: The Balochistan government has imposed with immediate effect a ban on transfer of land in the port city of Gwadar for three months.

The provincial revenue department has issued an official notification in this regard.

Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Dr Tufail Ahmed Baloch said on Friday that the ban had been imposed on transfer of all kinds of lands.

He said the decision had been taken in view of the re-planning of the Gwadar Master Plan. The plan would be reviewed according to the proposed mega city and smart city projects in Gwadar by foreign firms, he added.

A memorandum of understanding for the plan was signed between the Gwadar Development Authority and a foreign firm six months ago.

Earlier in July, the provincial government had lifted the ban on allotment of plots in the industrial estate of Gwadar. The ban at that time had been imposed after irregularities were found in the allotment process.

Thats good. Land record and master plan will be updated

I think we are about to see some large scale development plans coming out for Gwadar by Chinese developers... don't be surprised to see dubai scale plans very soon.

Very good decision.

Is there any legal housing scheme in Gwadar like Bahria town?

Any Plans of Bahria town to startup work in Gwadar?

Bahria town has their official Facebook page saying "coming soon" . However nothing has been updated on it since Musharraf days.

I believe there is some sort of political reasons behind it... i don't think Nawaz Sharif and Malik Riaz get along or something...

What would be interesting is that Bahia already has Hyatt Hotels working with them in their other schemes.. if Bahria can build an exclusive scheme in Gwadar and build huge private hotel resorts along Gwadar's amazing seashore... and that coupled with the new airport in works... can very easily become a major tourist attraction.

I hope that buying Land in Gwadar under DHA or Bahria would be cheap compared to Karachi?

Will opening of Gawadar port will effect Karachi's port?

Will there be new ports planned?

There is news that order of ban on Gwadar property is reversed. Things are quite confusing. Ban imposed and after 2,3 days decision reversed.

Government should buy back all the land and sell it to major Developers who develop large scale comminities of smaller scale towns and cities

The developers or planners should be responsible for selling the new homes / residential or commercial and then paying Taxes to Government

Similarly the new property should generate taxes (Property tax for government)

The local community should be relocated from mud homes to mid class housing schemes

a) Close to parks
b) Schools
c) Hospital
