BAF aircraft makes emergency landing in Murshidabad

A training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) made an emergency landing in Murshidabad of the Indian State of West Bengal due to stormy weather this (Wednesday) evening.

An intelligence official told UNB that Flight Cadet Rashed of Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA) made a phone call to his authorities and confirmed that he had safe landing in Murshidabad.

Cadet Rashed took off from Bir Shestra Matiur Rahman Air Base in Jessore with his PT-6 training aircraft. But soon he was caught by the storm and made the emergency landing on a paddy field.

The official said Bangladesh authorities are in contact with the Indian authorities to allow Rashed to fly back to Bangladesh as soon as possible.

Hope indian authorities allows him to fly back to bangladesh as soon as possible.

Even though the incident happened cause of a storm i hope bangladesh replaces pt-6 with yak primary trainers ASAP.

*****! Indians will take valuable technological information from our ultra-modern PT-6! Just destroy the damn plane using c4, then escape to Bangladesh. 'behind enemy line-3'

Oh....I got tense reading the 1st quote that no trace has been found. Anyway, it's good to hear that the pilot is safe. I'm sick of hearing that within a pause of couple of days there are one after one BAF training aircraft crashing and pilots are dying. My question is who is precious pilots or those ancient aircraft?

He is getting back from india after some medical treatment & he is totally ok.

Earlier Assistant Director Nurul Islam of ISPR told that flight Cadet Mohammad Rashed taking off from Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman air base of BAF in Jessore at 4:04pm, sent a message that he failed to locate his position in the air.

At 6:32pm, he further informed that he was going to land on a nearby field failing to locate any airport within his reach, he said quoting Rashed. He added that Rashed managed to land at 6:37pm on the field and he then came to know that the field was under Murshidabad district.

Asked about the reason of failing to locate the position, Nurul Islam said the reason could not be ascertained immediately.

One thing that surprises me is that IAF did not try to communicate with the aeroplane when it entered indian airspace.
