Considering the US and Afghanistan sabotaged Chinese backed peace talks before they even began, I doubt China will even listen to what Afghanistan has to say.

In fact, I'm pretty sure any such tactic will back fire, and China will end up pressuring Afghanistan's government instead.

Everyone on Pakistan's side has made it clear that the the project will be completed. Afghanistan should have approached Pakistan diplomatically, but by killing Pakistani soldiers, they've guaranteed that their concerns will no longer be heeded.
