Three soldiers martyred as Pakistan asks Afghanistan to rein in terrorists

Why doesn't the army rank and file get angry here? Why so much restraint is being shown to these namak harams?
Army ranks have bigger fish to fry. Their whole empire is at stake. That's irreplaceable. Soldiers to them are disposable, apparently. I realize we are not a big power but have you even seen the extent US and Israel go to for simply getting a hostage soldier released?

ISLAMABAD: At least three Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom on Tuesday when, the army said, terrorists from across Afghanistan opened fire in a latest incident that is likely to complicate relationship between Islamabad and Kabul.

Terrorists from across the border continue to pose security threat to Pakistan despite Afghan Taliban takeover and promises by the interim government not to allow Afghan soil to be used against its neighbour.

A statement issued by the military’s media wing said terrorists from inside Afghanistan across the international border, opened fire on Pakistani troops in general area Karachi of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district.

“During fire exchange, Naik Muhammad Rehman (age 32 years, resident of Karak), Naik Maweez Khan (age 34 years, resident of Jamrud, Khyber) and Sepoy Irfan Ullah (age 27 years, resident of Dargai, Malakand), having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat [martyrdom],” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

It said Pakistan Army troops responded in a befitting manner. “As per credible intelligence reports, due to fire of own troops, terrorists suffered heavy casualties,” it added.
The statement said Pakistan strongly condemned the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that Afghan government will not allow conduct of such activities, in future.

“Pak Army is determined to defend Pakistan’s borders against the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” read the ISPR statement.

Despite change of government in Kabul, there has been no let-up in cross border terrorist attacks. In April after a spate of cross border terrorist attacks, Pakistan had to retaliate by carrying out airstrikes across the border.

The move compelled the Afghan Taliban to pacify Pakistan’s concerns as it persuaded the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to restart negotiations with Islamabad. A series of meetings between the two sides eventually led to the indefinite ceasefire announced by the TTP.
But officials said there were several groups operating out of Afghanistan and not all of them were on board with the TTP.

Pakistan is increasingly concerned with the interim Taliban government for doing little to tackle such groups.

Islamabad has been seeking action against anti-Pakistan groups but the Taliban have been pushing for a peace deal.

It was because of this reason that Pakistan initiated talks with the TTP. However, officials warned that if talks could not produce the desired results Pakistan has all the options on the table to deal with the threat emanating from Afghanistan.

The presence of TTP and its affiliates have remained a thorn in the relationship with Afghanistan even during the previous US-backed administrations.

The problem remains unresolved despite the Taliban returning to power.

What do you mean? do they have any options available other than what they are already doing?
Why don't you share those here so we all can know?

The Taliban do have a soft spot for the TTPs.

Sooner or later Pakistan will have to take on both TTP and Taliban. Close your eye to the looming threat but one day the Pakistani army will need to deal with the Taliban head on.

Indian consulates are closed, who is financing them now ? Earlier our Pakistani friends used to blame us. Pakistan is facing the same issue with Afghanistan what India face from Pakistan.
Everything is so black and white to you indians. Devoid of logical thinking. Indian involvement was just a ( really effective ) catalyst to the mindless seething hatred afghans have harbored for us since our country was born and probably before.

Time to eliminate another b@stard of TTP in Afghanistan
which begs the question, bro. Why couldn't we have done the before they killed our boys? Some kind of sick quid pro quo we have with the taliban?

Edit: It also begs the question: if this shit is going on wholesale, then what are our red lines with the taliban? that don't try to take our nukes?

The only solution to this is bombing TTP's hideouts in Khost,Kunar and Paktika.
Which Imran Khan never wants.
Agreed. But, I wonder why you felt the need to single him out. As if he's been stopping the military from responding to these animals in kind.

India is a communal shithole, the issues your facing is because hundreds of millions of Indian Muslims and Kashmiri are beginning to understand that Jinnah was right

Afghanistan has always been a dump, it's always been chaotic the fall of the Afghan Republic and removal of Indians was to destroy a strategic threat to Pakistan,, this fall out is what we expected and will have to be dealt with

Unless Pakistan is in a position to get rid of traitors, like Mir Bajwa, and many many others, including Generals, politicians, judges, etc. etc.; the situation will remain more or less same, as it is. We would keep on loosing our bests.

Bro, you are right, although indirectly. While these people are a big problem. They aren't the reason for the weak hand with which we deal with afghans.

Having a strong leader who can foster strong Pakistani nationalism among the pushtun populace while we deal with an iron hand with the afghans is the solution. IK is a strong popular leader and a unifying force for all provinces, but he has a big pacifist keera. It's perfectly understandable if he doesn't want to fight america's war. But he should understand, it's our war now, ffs. Out boys are laying their lives now. We can't just opt out of this one too.

Majority of Pashtuns have chosen Pakistan over Afghanistan. The failure of the Pashtunistan movement shows that.

You have pockets of hatred in Waziristan and North Balochistan. Mainland KPK is pro Pakistan.

I don’t know how Pakistan plans to tackle the pockets of hatred. As in Waziristan, flames of hatred brewed after 9/11 and Northern Balochistan has No insurgency. But baloch majority areas of Balochistan do.

while we deal with an iron hand with the afghans is the solution.

Will never happen as many will not tell the difference between Afghans and Pakistani Pashtuns.

Sindh episode displays that .
