Top 7 reasons why this Pakistani serial is a big hit in India

Turks spoke Turkish or Persian, so how Hindustani become their language, the word Hindustani itself means 'Indian' to distinguish it from their Turkish and Persian languages. ab jhootha gyan batna band karo.

Bhaiyas with no self respect first try to claim punjabis and now their turkic invaders as their own. :laughcry:

That's not true, the general Urdu spoken by Pakistanis has thick Punjabi accent and often sound rustic.

How many people you have met from Pakistan, majority of foreign Pakistanis in UK n Europe are from Punjab Provence so you find punjabi accent of Urdu but even there things are changing as many schools want clear Urdu accent of children so they can learn good English in future. My fathers family is from Kashmir and are settled in Punjab but they all speak excellent Urdu.

god luck then.
i prefer better stuff than subcontinent saas-bahu--bacche---shaadi--mundan---talaaq---bullshit.

Our dramas are not based on saas bahu stuff, they are based on social issues, go check out Pakistani drams on web and you will know.

Abe Dhakkan, Shah Jehan first used the term Zabaan e Urdu in 17th century, before that no such term existed. Amir Khusro wrote poems in two Indian dialects Khariboli of Delhi and Brajbhasha of Mathura. ;)

But he was turkic and kashmiri, as soon as these people mixed with bhaiyas they lost their ability to do poetry.

It is nice to see that you are reading further about Urdu. You didnt know about the DEEP Dakkani connection to Urdu before.

Dakkan [ a massive region like Sholapur, Nanded, Aurangabad in its west ] is like a 1000 kms south of Delhi

@save_ghenda

I always knew that Urdu had deccani connections, Hindustani language was brought down to Hyedrabad much later and fusion of local languages with Hindustani helped in the development of Urdu. Where did Pakistan come into the scene?

I didn't think this drama serial was all that, Humsafar now, that was a drama serial to come out of the Pakistani entertainment in years that was something special. Hope, they show that one and captivate the Indian audience.

yes, hamsafar is like 100 times better than zindagi gulzaar hai [ or bezaar hai ] :lol:

That is not urdu but shamukhi script. You know the script in which punjabi poets wrote poem starting from Baba Farid in 12th century to Waris Shah.

Another interesting fact, Amir Khusro teacher was student of Baba Farid :whistle:
