Tianjin hospital races to treat blast victims
August 13, 2015

Twin explosions in Tianjin have resulted in more than 400 casualties. Hospitals are racing against the clock to treat the victims. But one facility in particular has been dealing with a huge inflow of the injured.

Ambulances arrive at regular intervals in Teda hospital. Some carry the injured, others carry dead bodies.

But it is not just the ambulances; people are doing their bit, too, bringing the injured in for treatment.

Some have fainted, some have fractures. Others lie motionless in bed.

A woman in neighboring Hebei province received injuries on her face while her husband was wounded in his right leg. When the explosion occurred, they were resting in the parking lot, not far away from the site of the explosion.

More and more victims arrive at Teda hospital at regular intervals.

Among them are some firefighters who fought bravely against the giant flames. As they came in, many shouted praise for them, calling them their heroes.
