Thunder on ADA scramble

we forget that we need a platform which we can operate at high operational level and nothing can come near apart from thunder in that respect,as it would be inducted in numbers, with most spare parts produced at home and it operational cost will be cheaper

Pakistan is poor country not even in top 120 with respect to HDI. we still have people dying of hunger

i know the Indians dont care about their people dying of hunger(more indians are in hunger than whole africa) but we should care

goal should be to optimize the thunder to level best in weapons, avionics and manufacturing along with high operational achievement, sortie rate and turn around rate with as much as exports as possible to support a home industry

There were pic of j11 flying with training version of sd10s not sure seen on Jf during the exercise

I have received positive reports for just ended plaaf-paf joint exercises which included jets with AESA capable radars.
So its sealed that JF-17 can knockout SU27MKI, just like F-16 did in redflag.

I'd say Flankers in general. The Russians increase version numbers (SU-27, SU-30, SU-35) after certain modifications. The base platform remains the same. The J-11s are a highly customized Chinese evolution and I would at least equate them with SU-30. Against SU-35, if you retain the same radar, it will retain the BVR advantage at least. But the latest SU-35s are equipped with a beast of a radar/jammer, so I wouldn't fancy Thunders chances against it... just yet. Block 3 will be a different beast altogether...

Update from colleague at Hetian AB: In atleast two WVR scenarios at high altitude, a chinese fighter jet did manage a lock on FC1.

I'm gonna assume PAF pilots are superior at WVR combat.

Is this a case of you cant win them all?

Or does it say something about pilot training between the two air forces? Or between the two platforms?

What would you say is the significance of these reports?

Madam, may we know which jet this was? Did the jet in question enjoy potential energy superiority on Thunder beyond its max altitude? Finally, was it able to maintain the lock? Was it a radar lock or an IR lock? Did the two fighters start from a neutral position?

Partly correct.
FC1 did very well at low, mid and high altitudes against heavy fighters. Contrary to claims, heavy fighters were unable to get a fix on it. Our easterly neighbours should watch out.

Jf17 made a mince meat out of jh-7. The J11 did put up a strong fight and managed two locks for the first time.
Overall, it still outdid the flanker. Credit to Pilot skill and carefree handling, excellent turn rates, quick regime transition at low and medium altitudes.

How about in BVR engagements? Did the Flanker prevail?
