Thunder on ADA scramble

Sir, EW needs a doctrine. Just like CAS led to ACE, we need to treat EW as a dedicated topic at ACE and evolve a doctrine based on knowledge of current and future developments, leading to strategies, leading to training in the force. EW is a multi-dimensional element which requires interaction between the tri-services.
WE surely will once the require equipment is in place and the pilots have enough facilities (in terms of EW capability) to practice that doctrine that will be taught at ACE

But I thought the equipment should be purchased in accordance with the doctrine, instead of doctrine being tailored to suit the equipment?

That is a very good capability. But in the face of modern AESA radars, I have my doubts about the efficacy and relevance in modern combat. But more than this, we need our military to take stock of the bleeding edge and possible future developments to clearly demarcate the threat environment, take stock of available solutions, and then develop our own strategy. Key developments:

1. Syrian conflict and the power play between Russia and America.
2. CHAMP and related systems.
3 Directed energy weapons.
4. S-400 radars.
5. Anti-ballistic missile systems. It is being said that some of North Korea's failed launches were a result of American interference.

No bro, i havent. See how i mentioned "ENOUGH facilities" and pointed at the next level EW equipment in enough numbers. The problem will remains unless this is done (and as far as i can see, it is being taken care of). The Havelsan TnT range was the first and very important step and it have been taken. The only way to go from here is forward!

Sure the equipment is to be purchased as per doctrine. I was talking about practicing it. THAT will be possible once we have enough assets available. Without that, a doctrine will just remain that and wont be transformed into anything practical. The Training setup from Turkey as mentioned above was the first important step. Next will be taking these students OUT of class rooms and in the air to train and refine their tactics.
