Three Indians crash into Bangladesh territory, held

Three Indians crash into Bangladesh territory, held -

Agartala, Dec 27 (IANS) In a bizarre accident, three Indian men in a speeding car crashed into a checkpost on Bangladesh border, Tripura Police said here Tuesday. They were arrested by Bangladeshi police for entering the territory illegally.

'Bimal Debbarma, Sushanta Debbarma and Amarjit Debbarma - all aged between 26-29 years and engineers - under the influence of alcohol, shortly past midnight Monday, decided to visit Bangladesh through Akhaurah checkpost, near here,' a police spokesman said.

The police official said that the Indian trio took the Border Security Force (BSF) troopers, who were posted at the checkpost, by surprise when they whizzed past and wrecked a barricade before entering into Bangladesh territory.

Quoting BSF sources, police said the Bangladeshi police Tuesday presented the men, one of them a Tripura government employee, at a local court in Akhaurah in Bangladesh and the court sent them to judicial custody for 14 days.

Surrounded by international borders on almost all sides, Tripura shares 856 km border with Bangladesh.

Proper investigation needs to take place and appropriate legal measures hould be taken. Then of course, after they serve their prison terms, they should be deported to India.

India can do things to BD, but if BD does the same...BDR happens....we just cant shoot Indians, brother.

What a hippocrasy when BSF arrests Bangladeshi smugglers/terrorists/illegal immigrants it becomes "BSF kidnapped Bangladeshi" but when Bangladeshi arrests few innocent accident victims instead of helping them it become illegal entry. :tdown: :tdown: :tdown:

Shame on the Hippocrates :tdown::tdown:

Joy Bangla, Joy Bangladesh, May Bangladesh India friendship live forever.:tup:

lol Dude, you realise that they were drunk right? drinking and driving is highly dangerour, they could have killed innocent kids. Its not about hypocricy, its about common sense, which you clearly lack through your indian tinted glasses. And, if you condone drinking and driving then you are just not someone anyone will take seriously.

You should be happy your alcohol loving young men ventured into a foreign land with a speedy car, yet they were just arrested and not shot at as the BSF troops are so fond of doing. Who knows, they can well be smugglers. They might have been after Japanese cars in BD. Let us see what our court does against them.

Um, did you even read the article?

It was an accident due to DUI that happened to rush into Bangladeshi territory :D

.
Well. they decided to visit Bangladesh in the midnight. That is what the article says. Seems like they are regular visitors and overlooked the barricade as they were drunk.
