Respect to this man. He is working hard to sustain his family when he could have gone down the route of easy money (crime, begging etc). God bless him.

1. I agree, but sensible and honorable people always find a way to fight their misery without causing trouble to other and the society .
2. Sorry ,5000/mnth is no way extreme poverty in India.
I would have agreed with you if he was a socially or physically disabled , with a real struggle of some sort to make a living,eg. like the naxalite tribals of central India . This person in his own admission decided to live so ,only because he need to save that extra money . Why not find an extra job?
This guy looks like a BD immigrant
Please, let us not involve each other in our argument. As a cleaner he need not work 12 hours a day , it is 8 hours a day 6 days a week. ANM nurses with salary 6500/mnth and bais in our hospital with same salary works more than him. One nurse who is widowed with kid, beside her shift, also visits homes of elderly geriatric patient to care for them. Always dignified and sincere, i never found them ranting their story like this fellow. They do. Living inside a public toilet is one such way.
Try raising 2 kids, a wife, and elderly parents with a salary of 5000 per month. Talk is cheap.
So after he works for 12 hours doing hard physical labour by cleaning toilets, he is expected to do a second job ? as what ? Night security watchman ? When is he supposed to buy food, cook food, wash utensils, wash his cloths, sleep etc ? or is such things only for the privileged ?
I live in same India as you do. there are millions of Indians who doesn`t even earn half , of what he is earning , do you suggest all of them to leave their villages and occupy public places like him. What is preventing other low paid workers not to make public places their permanent abode. what will our cities become then , it is already in such bad shape.
His liabilities are his issues , we didn`t create it , he has to deal with it himself in his own personal space and time.Is there any one who deosnot have liabilities? There are people who will work double shifts to earn that extra rupee , and there is him who will instead occupy a public toilet to spend rest of his off duty time.

LOL. This is not a Office 9-5 Job ........ do you think these people work only for 8 hours a day, or that they get paid a minimum wage as per law ?
Most jobs in this category stretch between 10-12 hours. My building watchman works for 12 hours as his regular duty. A standard driver's shift is 10 hours. These are jobs that are 7 days a Week ........... not 6 days a week. You don't turn up for a day, you don't get paid.
Maybe one of these days you need to climb down from that ivory tower and see things for what they are. I am sorry if you felt I was getting personal, I was not. But when I find a lack of empathy, the only way to put my point across is the ask the other person to step into someone else's shoe to know what it means.
your building watchman is not a govt. employee . This person is a MCD employee. He works by the rules and schedule set down by MCD.
The original article states he is a permanent employee. In all probability a CONTRACT employee.

He is a brave man who has not given up in a situation where most would have. He is braving these conditions for what? to feed his kids, and to educate them, so they would have a future better than their father. Should this person be ridiculed or honored?
whats wrong with you?he is living on his salary,no shame at all.did he do any harm to others?why are you so hostile? that is his real life, not your decoration."I earn 6000 rupees and the rent of a single room is 3000 rupees, which I can't even think of in my dreams. Hence, I clean this place and sleep here"
There are thousands of folks in Delhi, who spend more than half of their salary in rent and transportation. I don`t like this . He is not a beggar or vagabond , he has got a permanent job and a steady salary. As a toilet cleaner he is probably a grade IV worker of Delhi Govt. He deserves to get an official govt. accommodation of some sort.
He is just being a miser and have ruined a public toilet by this sleeping and coking food there. He should be punished for this and doesnot deserve any sympathy. Stupid , rural fcuks like him has ruined our cities. If one can`t afford to live in a city , then he must not come to the city.
yea try doing that in beijing , I will see how your folks will react.whats wrong with you?he is living on his salary,no shame at all.did he do any harm to others?why are you so hostile? that is his real life, not your decoration.
