Islamabad is just one big housing society, original Bahria town. Difference being while Bahria is private venture while Islamabad was build with federal money. It contribute nothing to Pakistan economy yet get biggest development budget on per capita basis out of federal kitty.

I doubt Islamabad has a population of just 1 million.. It's probably closer to 4-5.
Add RWP and the thousands or more people that travel to Islamabad for work for visit daily .. Islamabad definitely caters to much more..

Source? Islamabad doesn't have any industry, its just housing society build on federal funds. Islamabad GDP is 1% of Pakistan, so it seem like situation is bit like Karachi which supposedly collect 65% for being only port city.
