"Their claim is false, but they still believe it"

If you keep reading the U.S. diplomatic record it becomes more and more clear that the expulsions, massacres, and starvation experienced by the Armenians were carried out with not only the knowledge but the approval of the Turkish government. The final straw for U.S. diplomats was when the "Sublime Porte" demanded that the U.S. life insurance policies held by deceased Armenians should be paid to the Porte, for their heirs were also dead which meant the Porte was now the beneficiary.
Did they also send letters to the homefront reqarding the 2,5/3 milion dead Turks killed by these ''innocent'' armenians condemning it?

whether Ottoman govt indiscriminately deliberately killed Armenians or not, the fact is that Armenians backstabbed its fellow Ottoman neighbours, be it Turks or Kurds. that´s a rock solid fact. The amount of Turkish casualties due Armenians´ backstabbing are also known. can we then make the same genocide claim against the Armenians?
this is the typical 'when christians (and nowadays also jews) die at muslim hands, raise hell. when vice versa, no one cares'. perhaps that's why the western world is raising monuments for Armenians and not for Azerbaijianis, who suffered at the hands of the same Armenians at Khojaly, a widely proven and accepted genocide. Do you hear anything about this in the western media?
France and the rest of Europe couldn;t take everything they wanted from Turks during the WW1 era, so as a revenge they punish Turkey with such petty things. If they are so confident about their archives, they should hold a common research with Turkey.

That is 100% true. The thing is. Westerners shouldn't look from western view and Turks shouldn't look from eastern view to the WW1 genocide question. Both parties should look from objective point of view. When we do that. There is simple no evidence. Let me repeat that no evidence.

Country who performs genocide, millions of telegraphs would be found with orders given to soldiers to ethincally cleanse Armenians. No document, telegraph or any trace can be found ala Hitler style who said kill every Jew. What really happened is, with Russian coordination Armenians attacked the Turks. Because the east was such a sensitive place we deported them and it was not planned very well. Were Armenians the only one who got deported? Big no! If you look at this map you can see more muslims were deported/had to flee. What is Armenia today was muslim majority in the past:

Thousands of Armenians take to the streets of Los Angeles' Little Armenia in 2012 to mark the anniversary of the Armenian genocide of 1915. (Michael Robinson Chavez / Los Angeles Times / April24, 2012)

Thousands are expected to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the Armenian genocide on Thursday, with several high-profile events scheduled across Southern California.

The observances come just days after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered condolences to Armenian descendants of the massacre — an atrocity that Turkey still refuses to describe as a genocide. Roughly 1.5 million Armenians were killed starting in 1915 amid the chaotic collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

With among the largest Armenian diasporas in the world, Glendale and East Hollywood will host a number of events Thursday, including a rally expected to draws thousands to Hollywood Boulevard in Little Armenia. A separate demonstration is planned for outside the Turkish consulate on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, where the prime minister's recent comment will likely be a hot topic.

“We do not see this as being something that is an adequate and appropriate acceptance of responsibility for the international crime that had been committed,” Berdj Karapetian, chairman of the Glendale chapter of the Armenian National Committee of America, told the Glendale News-Press in response to Erdogan's comments.

In his statement, Erdogan said it was "indisputable that the last years of the Ottoman Empire were a difficult period, full of suffering for Turkish, Kurdish, Arab, Armenian and millions of other Ottoman citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnic origin," but he did not specifically refer to the genocide.

Glendale Mayor Zareh Sinanyan called the statement weak and indirect.

“I think his statement is evasive and insincere. It’s not the condolences Armenians expect from the leader of the Republic of Turkey,” Sinanyan said.

Laws in California and 41 other states officially recognize the massacre as genocide, as do many nations.

Among the major public events scheduled in the area Thursday:

—The Armenian Community Coalition will host a commemoration event at 10 a.m. at Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave. The event will feature several speakers.
—Unified Young Armenians will host its annual mass demonstration in Little Armenia at 10 a.m. at Hollywood Boulevard and Hobart Street.
—The Armenian Youth Federation will host its annual protest in front of the Turkish Consulate, 6300 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, from 4 to 6 p.m.
—Glendale hosts it annual free, ticketed commemoration event starting at 7 p.m. at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd. The event features speakers and performances.

exactly. Those Armenians who cry about being deported are crying for nothing. Unlike Nazi's, Ottoman govt didn't deport them to some camp where they would get slaughtered. Instead, they were deported to take them out from the sensitive areas. Plus, if Ottoman govt had genocidal ideas, they would deport all Armenians to Syria, not only the Armenians in the east. And actually, why deport them if you had such genocidal ideas. I mean, why waste manpower, resources and time in such critical times by escorting Armenians to Syria? There are so many arguments against Armenians and their allies, but they got no credible package of proof. If they had, they would have brought such proof already to the table and shoved it in our face.
Armenians try their best to make the actions of Ottoman govt sound like the Nazi's, because that's the easy way to win sympathy 'we were treated like the jews'.
Turkish govt MUST now increase effort on this issue and show the world that we are right on this topic.
Past Turkish govts were SLEEPING while Armenians were running around winning sympathy with their 'repeat a lie 100 times and people will believe it' tactics without even doing proper independent research.

do you care about the millions of muslims that died?

Besides were not denying that anyone died we are just saying that people died in a world war and that armenian were not targeted as a specific group. We are also saying that their numbers regarding casualties are incorrect

please show the pictures of dead turks

Too bad for both sides BTW i think limit of dead armenian by turks in WW1 is not comparable to the limit of dead turks by armenian.
I dont blame you for doubting the Turkish Side of the story. The armenians have a strong lobby and they also have alot of backing from anti muslim type people. Once we get the message and the facts out then people have no choice but to believe in what actually happened,.

Armenians were being provoked from the outside to cause unrest with in the empire even before WW1 -

We've gone from outright denial that non-combatant Armenians were murdered to justifications for doing so. Yet if killing the Armenian women and children was justified, why do Turks try to hide these deeds, even today?

We dont hide anything we just dont exaggerate the numbers. They do and they try to act like they were not involved in ww1 and they try to act as if they didn't kill any muslims which they did. They are not innocent. If you really care about people and don't have any other motives then you should also be sad for all of the muslims killed by the armenians.

Here erdogan invites armenia to bring their evidence to allow historians, archaeologists etc. to analyze the events. So far we have not gotten a response. Why haven't we got a response if the genocide allegations are true?

I really suggest that you watch this video.

Killing the combatants in battle isn't a crime. Uprooting the relatives of rebels against the State was standard Ottoman practice. However, one needs to distinguish between these deeds and the outright murder and death marches that marked the Armenian tragedy of WWI, as well as the fact that NO attempt was made to distinguish between Armenians who accepted Ottoman rule and those who may have had a family member in the Russian Army.

If you really care about people and don't have any other motives then you should also be sad for all of the muslims killed by the armenians.
And the Azeris, too. Don't forget them.

I can think of three reasons:

First, the Armenians are probably in shock and suspicious that Erdo wants to open this can of worms. Give them time and they will respond.

Second, while the 1933-45 Holocaust has much evidence and documentation of Nazi actions and intent, it was available because Nazi Germany was conquered and the Russians and Allies collected surviving evidence.

That didn't happen to Turkey - not unless you count the brief march of victorious allies through Constantinople - so there is much less available in the Armenian case. Nor are Turks obsessive record-keepers like Germans are. (That doesn't mean these terrible deeds didn't happen.) One historian, Bernard Lewis, even went to jail in France for pointing this out - in France it's forbidden to question the Armenian Holocaust (a law passed, in my opinion, to highlight the differences between Turkey and Europe and thus keep Turkey out of the E.U.)

Three: as far as I can tell, Erdogan wasn't offering to suspend or eliminate the laws and customs that forbid proving the Armenian Holocaust in Turkey. Which means he won't be cracking open the Turkish archives for objective research any time soon.

As a witness for the defense in the trial of Talat Pasha's Armenian assassin, General Liman von Sanders asserted: "...The economic situation was so dismal that not only many Armenians, but thousands of Turkish soldiers as well died of the lack of food supplies, disease, and other consequences of poor organization in the Turkish government. In my division alone, after the battle of Gallipoli, thousands died of malnutrition."

First, remember von Sanders was responsible for the supply of his Turkish troops; it was thus convenient for him to blame "the economic situation" rather than his own failure (which may or may not have been due to lack of competence.)

Second, the food situation couldn't have been helped by the displacement and death of the hundreds of thousands of Armenians who actually produced food for Ottoman armies. Had the peasants remained on their farms, more grain could have been harvested and shipped to the capital to feed Ottoman troops stationed there.

Third, the soldiers von Sanders referred to were the ones in Europe defending Constantinople itself, which was mostly surrounded and cutoff by the Allies. This didn't happen in Armenia. Armenian civilians who weren't slain outright suffered because having been evicted they could neither grow food nor was it supplied by Ottoman troops in Eastern Anatolia (who seem to have had plenty of it), whereas the troops around Gallipoli suffered due to Allied control of the surrounding territory which cut off their supplies.
