The word "Shaheed" and dead Indian soldiers

.
in November, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ordered a 24-hour ban on NDTV India for allegedly revealing strategic information about the Indian Army’s operations during a terrorist attack on an Indian Air Force base in Pathankot in January that year. The ministry later put the ban on hold.

Yaar dont do this, where it says specifically that "this has to do with reporting more of local news than anything related to reporting about army."

it includes everything, but just for your info I copied the part related to Army.

Thanks

We all Indians saw 26/11 unfold in front of our eyes like it was a reality show and not a terrorist attack. we lost soldiers because media houses wanted to be the first ones to break the latest news on the developments. Anyway this is the bit from the article you quoted matters the most. And it hasn't been carried out still yet.

The ministry later put the ban on hold.

Its an Arabic word and it has nothing to do with Pakistan as Pakistan is not an Arabic race.
India has all rights reserved of this word since the mugal era. India is using this word for independence heros since before pakistan took birth on India's land.
U should tell that to the Indians who were all up in arms just bcuz Justin Trudeau wished them "Diwali Mubarak". They were quick to teach him to either say "Happy Diwali" or "Shubh Diwali" but not "Diwali Mubarak".

Ok Boss if that helps your case.

First you said, its only local news not Army. then next justification. point is Indian Media is not free as claimed.

but once you are happy and know what you are saying is truth, I have no issue.

Sufism had a great impact on United Punjab and Northern India. People followed Pirs irrespective of whether they converted to Islam or not. Another word commonly used is "RABB" Sikhs use it liberally and I don't see Pakistanis raising a hue and cry over it.

We make fun of Sikhs for it. Especially the ones that hate Muslims.

"J&K media" is not "Indian media". This is what you are trying to say?
I am saying J&K media is more aware than mainstream Indian media about the usage of the word Shaheed.

No problem with it. I was just pointing out how the usage of the word might have came into existence. Not saying it's justified.

Freedom of expression is not absolute in India, hence a huge grey area when it comes to reporting certain issues. It's a big mess. Even we don't understand which falls under which category at times.

Idiot. You were born in August 1947 - the same day as us. Your 'pappa' and our 'pappa' was called British India. Just because you adopted the same suffix does not make you the pappa. They left in 1947.

26/11 was great for PDF.

I think India has not done herself any favors by sponsoring cross-border terrorism in the neighbrohood for the past half century or more via her proxies.

Unleashing the maniac of suicide bombing via LTTE in the region was the biggest evil India has done to the world.

Just saying. Not that it will make any difference for the policy makers sitting in Delhi who are planning their next terrorist attacks via TTP, BLA etc.

Again, I am quite surprised that the hindus do not have an equivalent word for Shaheed, considering that most of the cultures and religions have a concept of martyrdom and related words.

Surely the much touted "ancient history and religion" must have produced some sort of concept of martyrdom with a specific term for their dead?

And than the so called rajput got fuked like his mata jodha bai.. BC najaiz aulad of Muslims. And his parsi bharwa.

Pappu.. Shaheed is a Quranic word.. used in Holy Quran and Hadith..

Now keep moaning.
Pappu - Pakistan has no copyright over using Quranic words.

jackdaws, Shaheed is Arabic word. Please google is your friend. Thanks.

Sure, it is an Arabic word. So? Lots of loan words in many languages.

Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam etc all religion have some sort of term to describe brave soldiers deaths and sacrifice of life, But unfortunately Indian constitution and Army Act or regulations do not recognize any of those terms.

at personal level in India, Muslims or Sikhs can call their loved once , sons, brothers or friends as Shaheed or veerghati or whatever they want but state and army has no distinction, all are casualties of war, conflict or accident.

India Muslims and Sikhs are minorities and do not dominate or control or have this representation in constitution and Armed forces. personally they can call whatever but officially at state level and media is not suppose to, because they have to follow constitution and Army regulations.

My understanding from all this rolla rappa.

does your state and Army recognize these terms?

You can keep the fatwas where the sun doesn't shine. India does not care for your proclamations. You have a problem, go to International Court of Justice and file a case for Intellectual Property Rights and Trademark violation. Pakistanis are famous for filing hundreds of such cases and losing so what is one more in a long list of cases.
We will continue to use the word Shaheed for our martyrs and we don't give a rat's @$$ to what you think.

We would keep fatwas anywhere including where sun doesn't shine. But the thing is we would keep reminding you of how fake you and your nationalism is.

The thing is you are free to use Islamic terms for your dead but then we are also free to mock you and your dead for calling themselves shaheed even though they are far from it.We would laugh at the fact that your dead didn't get a proper title of their own after laying down their life and got a title which is complete anti thesis of the cause that they died for.

We both have options and we would definitely apply our option whenever every single time. Hope you don't whine then. :)
