Electronic warfare system Satellite-M2 complex

The "Satellit" was specifically “designed for use on an aircraft external stores hardpoint. This [EW] pod is integrated with a weapons pylon that attaches to the underside of the Satellit. So, the aircraft can utilize one weapons station for both the EW pod and a missile. This system significantly enhances survivability.

The complex is fully automatic and is able to independently detect and identify threats to the aircraft, after which it begins to create masking interferences in range and angular coordinates. At the same time, the opponent sees several false targets in his review indicators, among which it is very difficult to highlight the real goal for him. An improved version of the Satellite-M2 complex covers the entire radar range and is not only capable of disrupting the targeting of anti-aircraft missiles, but also interferes with the air defense radars, thereby preventing targeted fire on the aircraft.

The satellite containers are located on two suspension points under the wings of the aircraft and are combined with the missile suspension assembly.

The complex can be installed on both military and civil aircrafts and helicopters.

“Sapphire” is a light rocket-propelled grenade launcher with an unguided grenade, equipped with a multipurpose warhead (CW) and a digital fire control device (FCD), which can significantly increase fire accuracy and reduce the cost of ammunition.

It is designed to combat modern main battle tanks, armored, light armored and non-armored targets, destruct enemy manpower with body armor (BA) located in bunkers, earth-and-timber emplacements, light field-type shelters, urban and rural structures. The dimensions and weight of the launcher allow the personnel to easily move along connecting trenches and embark on any military vehicles.

A distinctive feature of the grenade launcher is the ability to fire from small-sized sheltered areas due to small caliber and smooth start of a rocket-propelled grenade. As a result, the developed 60 mm launcher is as efficient as heavier models of this class of 90-105 mm caliber, but it also outperforms such models in firing quality, namely has better pointblank firing distance.

RPG Sapphire technical specifications:

Calibre – 60 mm

Weight – 4 kg

Length – 750 mm

Direct shot range – 150 m

Maximum sight shooting range – 400 m

The maximum firing range – 1,000 m.

If they had including anti-aircraft it would have been super-multirole purpose imagine having anti-tank, anti-aircraft in one system

IR seeker guided missiles can engage aircraft but velocity is very low, and the warheads are inefficient for those targets. Helicopters would be the fastest target it could engage imo. Costs are very expensive thought unfortunately for obvious reasons.

Yes Infrared guidance seekers could engage but as you said not useful due to speed but Helicopters could be a legitimate target due to low speed and velocity.

Btw, on an unrelated note I have been thinking and Halcon could use the indigenous TV seeker on a short range ATGM althought nightime use would probably be impossible. Hell, you could even make it top attack probably.

A Television guidance type of missile (TGM) won't be useful but it need different types and Halcon could instead make an ATGM in different version and systems like in PGM (Precision guided munition) aka smart bomb. But making two different types of weapons for different uses into one will be chellenge but not impossible especially in this age

Optima-B” System (GPS Satellite Navigation System Terminal Spoofing Jammer)

GPS satellite system terminal spoofer “Optima-B” (hereinafter, the “Optima-B”) is designed to generate and radiate, in real time, the signals whose characteristics and parameters are identical to characteristics and parameters of the signals generated by the GPS satellites at an assigned navigation receivers’ station point. The simulated signals can be recognized by the navigation receivers as true ones, which will result in false determination of the object’s current coordinates.

optima_b.jpg

“Optima-B” technical characteristics:

1- Working frequencies: L1 (1575.42 MHz) and L2 (1227.6 MHz).
2- The navigation code used for simulation – C/A code (as per IS GPS-200E).
3- The “Optima-B” enables jamming of the GLONASS navigation receivers within L1 and L2 frequency bands.
4- Output power of the amplifiers – minimum 3 W.
5- Coordinate system used – WGS-84.
6- Time scale used – UTС.
7- Number of GPS satellites simulated – up to 12.
8- Output power tuning range – 30 dB for the case of automatic tuning based on target ranging information; 50 dB for preset values.
9- The “Optima-B” provides control over the jamming transmitters comprising “Optima-3.2” complex through VHF radio channel.
10- Operating temperature range – from +5 to +50°C.

The 'Talisman' ADS is designed for operational aircraft protection against:
  • All types of Air-to-Air (AAMs) and Surface-to-Air (SAMs) guided missiles armed with active (semi-active) radar seekers.
  • All types of Air-to-Air (AAMs) and Surface-to-Air (SAMs) guided missiles armed with electro-optical (infrared) seekers.

Main advantages and singularity:
  • Automatic (with no pilot/operator's input) jamming generation against all hostile illumination RESs.
  • No restrictions on the number of the simultaneously jammed on-board and ground-based RESs.
  • Total exclusion of the ADS-carrier self-radiation.
  • The employment of the ADS places no restrictions on the air combat tactics of the aircraft under protection.
  • When in close formation, the ADS-carrier securely covers a friendly neighbouring aircraft with no EPE.
  • Full electromagnetic compatibility with the self radio electronic equipment of the aircraft under protection.

The range research complex RRC-29 is intended for conducting research on the resistance of the airborne electronic warfare systems to onboard radar stations as well as for carrying out flying personnel training.

RRC-29 is designed to tackle the following tasks:
  • To study the electronic countermeasures resistance of the onboard radars and ECM effectiveness when affected by jammers.
  • Target environment simulation with the employment of the standard radar simulator.
  • On-line visualization of the intrastation parameters of the RSS-29.
  • Combat training of the flying personnel in dense signal environment.
  • Radar surveillance of the real targets and jammers.
  • Indication of the target and jamming environment on the display of the RSS-29 and remote monitors.
RRC-29 is housed in a specialized container fitted on a trailer. The specialized container provides the arrangement and operation of all the elements of the RRC-29, the intrastation test and control equipment, as well as the conduct of the full-scale experiments and researches in any seasonal and climatic environment.

The installation of the RRC-29 in a specialized container allows to reduce substantially the costs associated with the flying personnel training with no need for conducting aircraft sorties.
Proceeding from the Customer's requirements, RRC may be equipped with the onboard radars of the aircraft MiG-29 (Fulcrum), Su-30 (Flanker-C)...etc

BERKUT BM is designed to perform a wide range of practical tasks related to the training of the air defense forces:
  • training of combat crews of anti-aircraft missile system (AAMS) at places of permanent deployment for various types of targets;
  • evaluation of the real (and not declared in the technical descriptions) tactical and technical characteristics of the AAMS firing radars: target detection range with different radar cross-sections (RCS), range accuracy of tracking such targets, speed and angular coordinates;
  • assessment of the accuracy of geodetic referencing and navigation of the firing radars of the AAMS, significantly affecting the effectiveness of targeting from external systems;
  • test firing of the AAMS.
The UAV BERKUT BM generates a return signal of a target flying at different distances, altitudes, speeds. Simulated air targets have a real radar portrait within the frequency ranges of the AAMS and are full analogues of real targets for performing attacks in all parameters relevant to firing radars and radar homing heads (range, speed, angular coordinates, RCS).
