The Vietnam Solution

We don't need navy to sink your merchant ships, oil tankers, dude. Sea mine,anti-ship missile like Yakhont are enough to block the whole SCS(east sea) already.

That's why, when we fired at Itu-aba isl, controlled by Taiwan, she just remains silent bcz she can't fight against VN in SCS(east sea) :coffee:

That is because Taiwan didn't expect Vietnam is be such a useless low life. Its like a little bully got picked on by someone else, they have to pick on another person. Unfortunately for Vietnam, it pick on an unsuspecting guy that is much more powerful than them. You guys should pick on Singapore? On 2nd thought, they are more powerful than you. How about Malaysia? they are also more powerful. Maybe Philippines. But Taiwanese would intervene to ensure that the bully do not pick on their servants

In fact between Vietnam and Taiwan have no problem with each other. The event "open fire" is just a misunderstanding and misleading news.
Today Taiwan is a major investment partner with Vietnam....

Soon, there will be misunderstanding when Vietcong set fire to Taiwanese companies in Vietnam and call it a misunderstanding. I would not invest in Taiwanese companies that do business with Vietcong.

Hehe, yeah, your mouth on PDF is more'powerful' than mine, but who cares ??a single nuclear-capable Shaddock with 1.000kg conventional warhead will wipe out your troops in Itu-aba in few minutes, and your tiny Taiwan can do Nothing but sit and cry :P

Hope you have No relative among this sorry troop in Itu-aba, if not, you'd better prepare for him a good coffin now:coffee:

The Vietnam Solution

How a former enemy became a crucial U.S. ally in balancing China’s rise

By Robert D. Kaplan
...
------------------

It is a pretty subjective and rational analysis. I encourage all Vietnamese friends in this forum to read the article, not just once, but at least twice. Use your dictionary if necessary, as your English sounds below average, for better understanding.

I'll contribute my comments later. But here just a bit: you can change friends but you can't change your neighbors. Make your neighbor your enemy is a strategic mistake, especially for a small country like Vietnam. The maximum you can do, if you don't strategize correctly, you are the pawn of great powers, and can be victimized at any time.

Your Viets need to study to safeguard your identity. This is predominantly a peace time. Blood only doesn't solve problem, knowledge does.

I agree with the most parts of the author.
You should know, we Viets admire China´s rich culture und their people, we nearly have imitated, copied everything from the north by keeping our identity. That´s not true that we hate the Chinese, but we don´t like its bad attitudes. Because we are small and weak, we always fear their aggression. Culturally we are very close to the Chinese. But Vietnam is not China, it does not belong to China, the Viets are not Chinese! We may look similar. It wants to go its way. China shall accept that.
One word about a possible US-Vietnam military cooperation, Vietnam never wants to become a puppet, not even of a Super Power. We want to self decide own destiny. If China threats VN with force, then VN must consider its options. As quoted in the article, VN faced 17 times in its history to defence for its survival, it has proved their people are brave. We cannot give up our teritory.
China must know that VN cannot accept its current claim in the south china sea. As soon as China realizes that, a solution can be found quickly on a negotiating table, where both paties will be happy.

Let enjoy a vietnamese chinese song "the lover ..."

It's just like the House dog has a more foods than the wolf bcz house dog has a boss to feed him when the wolf has to find food on his own.

And where is Taiwan's nuclear-capable missile with 1000kg conventional warhead like VN shaddock ??if not, so how can Taiwan's army march with VN's forces ??

And Russia boss still help us , we can buy her weapon on credit, nothing diffrent .

btw:
France's troop could enter our soil after 1945 bcz she got US-NATO's support(France was in big debt after WW 2)

US's troop could enter our soil bcz she got NATO-ASEAN allies's support(many fly sorties came from Thailand-Phil-South VN. No or fews fly sorties came from US's soil)

If France-US fight with VN alone, then they would be defeated in few days.

I dont agree with you on the blue marker above. Not the Vietnamese loved Chinese culture to imitate them, but that's because Han deliberately wanted to destroy Vietnamese own cultural identity when they invaded Vietnam. Han did burn a lot of Vietnamese history books, they wanted to assimilate Vietnamese but could not . Vietnamese still keep their own identity till today.
Today Han continues to assimilate the Manchus, Tibetans, Uighurs ...

See excerpts on the history of Vietnam from Wikipedia:

The history of Vietnam is one of the longest continuous histories in the world, with the oldest archaeological findings showing that people have been living there as far back as over a half million years ago.[1] Ancient Vietnam was home to some of the world's earliest civilizations, with a cultural history of over 20,000 years - making them one of the world's first people who practiced agriculture.[2][3] The Red River valley forms a natural geographic and economic unit, bounded to the north and west by mountains and jungles, to the east by the sea and to the south by the Red River Delta. The needs to have a single authority to prevent floods of the Red River, cooperation in constructing hydraulic systems, trade exchange, and fight against invaders, led to the creation of the first Vietnamese states in 2879 BC.[4] The first truly influential part of history in Vietnam occurred during the Bronze Age, when the Đông Sơn culture was in Vietnam, dramatically advancing their level of civilization. Vietnam's peculiar geography made it a difficult country to attack, which is why Vietnam under Hùng Vương was for so long an independent and self-contained state. The Âns and Qins were among the earliest foreign aggressions of Vietnam, but the ancient Vietnamese regained control of their country soon after their invasions.
Once Vietnam did succumb to foreign rule, however, it proved unable to escape from it, and for 1,100 years, Vietnam had been successively governed by a series of foreign powers: the Hans, Eastern Hans, Eastern Wus, Cao Wei, Jins, Liu Songs, Southern Qis, Liangs, Suis, Tangs, and Southern Hans; leading to the losses of its writing system, language, and national identity. At certain periods during these 1,100 years, Vietnam was independently governed under the Triệus, Trưng Sisters, Anterior Lýs, Khúcs and Dương Đình Nghệ - although their triumphs and reigns were brief.

First of all, you sorry a*s vietcong has no nukes. You cannot build a nuke by digging a tunnel. 2ndly, the shaddock is a 50s technology that can be shot down by today's low end AA missiles. I cannot believe that you guys are still using that crap. Its time to retire them. Or use them for fireworks next year's Tet. You can call it Tet offensive II firework show. But just down shoot them up and have them come down on top our your huts.

You can't shoot down our Shaddock bcz your sorry troops in Itu-aba have No defense system against a missle flying with 2,5 march, so you'd better buy coffins for those poor guys now :P

VN is far behind of Taiwan on military power, no any country of Southeast Asia can come the military level of Taiwan

Oh yeah, china-taiwan are very strong, but when we fired to Taiwan troops in Itu-aba isl, both of 'strong guys' just keep their mouths shut

The author criticizes Viet Nam for buying 6 Kilo-subs as "not making sense".

With that same amount of money, had we bought 140 Mig29SMT instead of the Kilos, I wonder how he could have reacted:smokin:

Hanoi and the whole surrounding area was part of Han Dynasty China. We must take back our land and drive those dirty Viets back to the jungles where they belong!

no way, instead we may take the parts which did not belong to the Han´s.
