Truly an inspirational story. And an important lesson for the worshipers of money, it doesn't always stay with you.

Parents who do not put a burden on their children create dependents, and such parenting is common in Pakistan. This lady has gone down and back up - but I know people who were kept like prince and princes by their parents in their ignorance and the moment they died, their prince and princes do not know how to put food on their plate. Two of them who used to live in Karachi are now washing hotel dishes in a village - as they do not have knowledge, skills or toughness to stand themselves.

May the lady have strength and may she be an inspiration for parents and children.

I've seen a common trend in many unfortunate homes in Pakistan, a 30 35 year old still a kid living of Abba ji's money. Not here in United States. You reach 16 or even 14 and you start working while going to school at the same time.

This is common in the whole of South Asia. People, in general, do not care about retirement, the son is the source of money during old age. It creates pressure on the son to overperform and meanwhile nation as a whole suffers due to lack of investments in retirement funds.

This is exactly why in the west parents "kick" their kids out of home, so that they can learn to face the world, and know how hard it is to earn a living. This is why western kids as old as 16 are far more mature than many 30 year old in Pakistan.

This is also one of the major reasons that Pakistan's economy sucks, because just one father has to fetch for a household of 5 or 6. If kids are not going to school or not progressing well in school, they should be put in vocational institutes to learn some skill and start earning a living as soon as they turn 18 and add value to the society and help boost the country's economy.
