The Real Ugly face of Facebook [A Must Read]

Facebook fuels American flag business in Pakistan

"I'm busy every day making banners and placards for different religious and political parties, but work gets a boost -- especially when international controversy concerning Muslims breaks out," he said.

"Flags are made for burning. They symbolise what our clients want to express and we are paid for it, so I'm happy to see our work go up in flames."

"We have received continuous orders for American and Israeli flags. Normally we paint them but when demand surges into the hundreds we print these flags to get them to our clients in time," he said.

I just couldnt stop laughing.

Might as well ban the internet itself.

Oh, and the retards were the Holocaust deniers.

Guys i faced a similar situation on facebook...I recieved a very emotional and heartbreaking video on the sufferings of the Palestinian muslims from one of my friend on my facebook profile.I shared the video with all my friends and added a message condemning IDF,israel. The next day one of my facebook friend (who was coincidentally an american jew, which i didn't knew)removed me from her friend list and added a message on the video abusing me and muslims in general ,instead of condemning the massacre done by IDF and israeli b@$turd$...she went on to say that israel was innocent and muslims are terrorists...I couldn't bear the comments she made about muslims and against islam :flame:,hence i decided to send her a reply for her message. However as she removed me from the friend list and beacuse of my privacy settings she wouldnt have been able to read my reply to her message explaining the actual situation in palestine and explaining her what crimes israel, and jews in particular do to unarmed men, women, children and old people 7 also what islam is and what it says about peace and war.I also wrote her about the role of americans jews in supporting the israeli holocaust crime on palestinians and i sent a private message to her.
After which i forgot about that incident, few days later when i tried to login to the facebook profile I got a message saying my account has been disabled for some sort of violation...first I couldnt realised what happened :what:..but when i thought on it and read the message i realised that may be i was barred because i replied to that person who abused me and my religion.I couldn't find any link to reply or report the actual incident that took place.
Now guys give me a honest reply...was it fair on part of facebook to disable my account without knowing the whole truth? If some body abuses me and my religion ,they are not barred ,but when i abuse their people they blocked me,cnt we defend ourselves, don't msulims have right to defend..or is it only the right of americans, jews and westerners.
I am a network engineer and as far as I knw facebook was first developed by a american jew..i use to feel that they are balanced and support the truth and right in case of arbitration..but now i have finally realised that these people are no one's friend...and what hitler did to them was in no way incorrect.
Sorry for boring u by posting u a long story, but i want to bring to notice to all the forum members how biased facebook is .I think we should create a alternative to facebook,a popular social networking website developed by muslims to give a slap to facebook and its zionist supporters.Any feedbacks and ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Facebook fuels American flag business in Pakistan

Updated at: 0534 PST, Wednesday, May 26, 2010
Facebook fuels American flag business in Pakistan KARACHI: In Pakistan a row about Facebook, censorship and religious sacrilege means booming demand for replica American and Israeli flags to go up in flames at protest rallies.

That means one thing for 31-year-old Mamoon ur Rasheed -- business -- and he is working long into the night to churn out the paraphernalia beloved of Islamic activists taking to the streets.

"I have nothing to do with any political party, but it is really enjoyable when you see your work on TV screens," a laughing Rasheed told media.

"I'm busy every day making banners and placards for different religious and political parties, but work gets a boost -- especially when international controversy concerning Muslims breaks out," he said.

When a Facebook user decided to organise an "Everyone Draw Mohammed Day" competition to promote "freedom of expression", it sparked a major backlash among Islamic activists in the South Asian country of 170 million.

Islam strictly prohibits the depiction of any prophet as blasphemous and the row sparked comparison with protests across the Muslim world over the publication of satirical cartoons of Mohammed in European newspapers in 2006.

Several thousand Pakistanis have taken to the streets at the behest of right-wing religious groups, who turn to Rasheed when they need flags to burn and banners to write.

"Generally, we receive orders for banners for a couple of demonstrations a day, but due to the blasphemous drawings issue, the number of orders for flags and banners has increased by 10 to 12 per day," said Rasheed.

"Flags are made for burning. They symbolise what our clients want to express and we are paid for it, so I'm happy to see our work go up in flames."

Rasheed owns a workshop where he employs four craftsmen to paint flags and write calligraphy, and a small printing press.

"We have received continuous orders for American and Israeli flags. Normally we paint them but when demand surges into the hundreds we print these flags to get them to our clients in time," he said.

In the wake of the Prophet Mohammed controversy, Pakistan blocked hundreds of web pages to limit access to "blasphemous" material, banning access to US-based Facebook and YouTube -- the two most popular websites in the country.

A court in the eastern city of Lahore ordered the block on Facebook until at least May 31, when it is scheduled to hear a petition from Islamic lawyers.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I am glad that someone in Pak has benefited from this situation. Now a days, i think that American and Israeli flags are more in demand than our very own Pakistani flags.

double standards i really hate their double standards...Y It always happens to muslims becuase we muslims forgot message of QURAN nad we forgot Our Prophet(SAW) Sunnah..we are just following west we should be united so that they even can't think to harm muslims

By Saad Mustafa Warraich, Karachi – Pakistan

I had been banned from Facebook and my account had been disabled a night before Facebook was banned in Pakistan. Before all this happened, I visited the blasphemous page “Draw Muhammad Day” and the content on the page hurt me badly.

Once again a certain group of westerners called it the “freedom of expression” and went on to show extremism – something they always verbally disassociate themselves from.

As a response to this lunacy, I thought it best to find out how they respond to others’ right of freedom of expression – I created an Adolf Hitler page right away and it read, “To all those who think they can ridicule Islam in the name of freedom of expression and yet punish those who speak of the genius of Hitler”.

The comment on the wall read, “Let’s hit them where it hurts them the most”. Further I added some photos of the Fuhrer, Nazi Party and the Italian Footballer Paolo Di Canio who was banned and fined by FIFA two years ago for performing the “controversial” Roman Salute which according to him gave him a sense of belonging to his people.

Within an hour tens of people joined the Hitler page which was named “H | T L E R”. The very next time I tried to log in I found out that my profile had been disabled for ‘violation of Facebook Regulations’.

Facebook’s reply for my inquiry was as following (also shown in above screenshot):

Hi Saad,
After reviewing your situation, we have determined that your violated our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. One of Facebook’s main priorities is the comfort and safety of our users.
We do not tolerate hate speech. Targeting people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or disease is a serious violation of our standards and has resulted in the permanent loss of your account.
We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.

Now how is it that Hitler is termed as the most evil person in the history of mankind while those that bomb Muslims, commit heinous crimes in their countries, ridicule their Prophet and Quran and as a result hurt the sentiments of 1.2 billion Muslims are hailed as heroes? And I wonder why the victims of Holocaust are more important than victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Despite the protest of a large number of Muslims, Facebook has not removed the blasphemous page from the website.

According the statement issued by Facebook their policy is to withhold such content in countries where it is controversial. The statement specifically says that we do not remove Nazi content from Facebook because it is illegal only in a few countries. As two-faced statements go, this one takes the prize. Perhaps before issuing the statement the Facebook did not realise that words like “Adolf Hitler”, “Sieg Heil” and “Nazi” are not allowed to be used on Facebook to create new pages.

And if all this and the removal of Hitler page and the permanent deactivation of my profile isn’t enough, here is a testament to Facebook’s vile hypocrisy. The statement issued by Facebook on 20 May says, “We strongly believe that Facebook users have the freedom to express their opinions, and we don’t typically take down content, groups or pages that speak out against countries, religions, political entities, or ideas.”

While, in another instance, Facebook replied me in entirely different way. Excerpt and screenshot is given above.

Now these two conflicting statements speak volumes about the discrimination by the Facebook. It simply means that Facebook through its official statement to global media wants the world to believe that they are the torchbearers of freedom of expression and allow everyone to speak their minds out. On the other hand the face that individuals like me get to see is a much horrible one. It talks about hate and intolerance and all forms of so-called equality and unshakable resolve. While Facebook is portraying itself as the silent and innocent onlooker for the entire world, I wonder what gives them the right to remove a major chunk of my life from the web.

I don’t think Facebook should come up with any clarification statements for the Muslim world over what happened. It is clearer than crystal that as long as we are labelled as extremists, we are not going to enjoy the equal rights in this world. And those that are trying to play God love to label us that. While reporting the Facebook ban in Pakistan in different articles, guardian.co. uk mentions the brutality of Pakistan Army in Swat while Yahoo thinks it’s necessary to unveil Al-Qaida’s plans of attacks on Danish and Dutch football teams. It is a blatant attempt to criticize Pakistan for placing the ban, link the country to extremism and terrorism and thereby justifying this sacrilegious act of Facebook users.

Disclaimer: This article is produced to examine the equality of “Freedom of Expression” for multiple group of religions in the world, and how one organization sees it. ProPakistani doesn’t support hatred content against any religion, race or any other specific group of people based on any ideology.

Bro that why i already disable my account so that they lost $$$$$ the only language they know very well and lost $2.5 from advertisement which they claim for per person. so delete your account from it to damage their profit. the best solution or if u need facility of facebook u can move orkut of twistter

Bcoz 6 million of them where deliberately massacred in gas chambers and kept in inhuman conditions which was a pure case of ethnic cleansing...

You people are going below the cartoonists level just for the sake of anger or revenge..
Nothing and absolutely nothing can justify the death of 6million innocent CIVILIANS..
Its not personal for anyone whether zionists or indians but
Holocaust is a fake there is a conference held in Iran about the holocaust and thousands of europeans and hundreds of americans attended that,,,,they claimed that holocaust was a fake story to reclaim their land in palestine so that the Making of NEW World order will become realistic as it appears now,,,,,
The motive of New world order or holocaust is to capture the prophecized land of palestine and related areas in Arabs becuase they are waiting for the Prophesized messiah(Dajjal) who will rule the world....
They need a partner in crime in subcontinent and they believed that India will do that for them so India is really worthfull for them in next years....
Now its time for indians to take the decision whether they goes with muslim world or freemasons......
Hmmmm:agree:
