The Problems being faced by the Pakistani Young Diaspora and 2nd gen

so very silly to object on word desi and just give India all right to own it when we used word desi with many things as mentioned in previously post
Indians always [abroad] will use the 'India'. Nothing but 'India'.

Well I had some who thought same and I was like nahh all are desi...just means one who belongs to the land...Native :p: And covers all of sub continent...You dont need to be shy to explain further. Not everyone has a PhD in every subject on the planet!

I say screw the "Desi" tag PAKISTANI all the way

Even Trump thinks Pakistans in middle east.
Huh not just him..My supervisor once asked me:
So you speak Arabic...I swear my mouth dropped open...Here was 1 of the foreleading in my field and that is what he asks me?! I think he realized he made a mistake coz he shifted uncomfortably...And I was like no, we dont my parent's generation did pick up some but they also picked up Persian :D

True you never hear an Indian say oh I am Punjabi, or Tamil or "Desi" just Indian

I suppose that makes you more 'Pakistani' then rest of us. You are living exhibition of the composite that is Pakistan.
Yea, even when I explain it people search my face to see if I am joking :(

Its wrong. I have many Indian Punjabi friends who prfer to talk with us Pakistani Punjabi than having conversation with south Indian who even talk to each others in English and can hardly speak Hindi/Punjabi

True...I also said I am Pakistani but Pakistani themselves are the ones who ask for details and that is exactly how I provide it to them :D

And that thought process feeds into the malaise/confusion and goes against the the August 1947 event. As it negates it. Further it lends fuel to the Indian claim that Pakistan is a artifical product and India is one whole from Khyber Pass to Bay of Bengal ~ which actually conjures the British Raj but indians regard that as 'Mata India2'.

If someone ask about your country then surely you will say India/Pakistan/afghanistan
but if someone ask about your ethnicity then obviously you will say that you are Punjabi, tamils, Pashtun, Bengali etc and you share some similarities about languages/food/music when you share ethnicity with others

Akhand Bharat or some BS crap that Brits made salty Indians to feel proud of

If some ask about your country then serely you will say India/Pakistan/afghan

Nah I am not some provincial bumpkin who thinks in stupid castes and tribes I am PAKISTANI till I die

Talking about 1947, my greatgrand parents and grandparents migrated from India so when in Karachi I can also be a Mohajir though no one in my family associates themselves as that! We think of that as an insult to our ancestral sacrifice!

I think it is also why I am extra proud of my desi/ Brown/ Pakistani tag coz I am literally 3rd generation Pakistani....

Well, even within Indian communities they ask which village you from

So I guess it really is a universal problem!
