The Ottoman Empire - demise of a major power

Nope and utterly wrong

He is NOT wrong. Ottomans exported a non-Turkic Islam, which is ARAB culture. The Ottomans took over lands that were already conquered by the Seljuks....the very same Seljuks that weren't really Muslim......most of the Seljuks were TENGRIST. You can see this through their art, all over Anatolia.

If only the Ottomans abandoned Islam, it stood a chance to develop scientifically.

Ottoman don't need to incoporate into Western world..;since they have theirown world at that time

Maybe they did maybe they didn't. But the Islam held Ottomans back so much, you cannot deny this. The western world has shown who were the better of the two :)

Europe got out of the Dark Age thanks to us

And now you will get out of dark ages thanks to Europe? Who in the world follow the western world like dogs than Muslims? lol

Ottoman EMpire existed and florished BECAUSE of Islam.

Ottomans made Islam half decent. Right now the Islamic world is a joke. There's nothing good in the Muslim world. So how can you say we florished becos of Islam? What about Iraq and Syria? Or Libya? They don't have Islam?

...As the victorious allies moved ahead with plans to partition Anatolia, Mustafa Kemal - a successful commander during the war - organized a national resistance movement.
Note carefully that the "national resistance movement" was a rebellion against the Ottoman Caliphate, which had agreed to these terms imposed by the victorious Allies.

That is, the leader of the Turkish National Movement, General Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, betrayed his sworn oath of allegiance.

The loss of the non-Turkish parts of the Empire could be accepted but not the loss of Anatolia itself and Turks' loyal Kurdish allies. Anatolia was worth fighting for but the Empire was not.

To those mourning the loss of the Khalifat: should Kemal instead have remained loyal to the Empire and accepted the loss of southeast Anatolia and retained Ottoman-occupied Aegean islands and Greek-populated coastal cities?
