Arresting people for their ideology is something we would complain about, for sure.

Not ideology but propaganda for a terrorist group thats killing people, you can think like that in Sweden but in ME such things have bloody consequences.

Sure media is under pressure lately but majority (not all) of those journalists are pro pkk or gülenist media journalists making propaganda for them, they deserve no less in my opinion.

Arrest of HDP MP's is good too let me explain why:

-Their MPs made statements like ''we put our back towards Qandil'' referring to pkk HQ in Iraq.
-Their MPs shouting ''biji serok apo'' (long live apo) referring to Abdullah Öcalan, the imprisoned founder of pkk in the parliament.

-HDP municipalities have used the peace process to help pkk to ditch trenches in easter cities, they allowed them to deploy weapon and fighters in urban areas, they handed them heavy construction machines to dig trenches and deploy IEDs under asphalt.

All of this would get HDP a complete ban in previous goverments, many parties got banned for much less.
So i dont know why such people should be fed by tax money of people and enjoy immunity, they should rot in jail for all i care.

Let them support El Kaida or ISIS here. Not a single bullet will fall on the ground!!!!!

Middle east needs leaders who can shut up western (including russain/chinese/whatever) nose-poking and provide environments where society can grow and develop islamically and where Islam's role in society is respected and acknowledged. It can be a monarchy or elected PM/president does NOT matter. Otherwise people will feel oppressed and rebel and foreign powers will take advantage.

The dangers of monarchy far outweigh the benefits of it. For example in a democracy if the ruler is tyrannical people can simply vote him out but in an absolute monarchy there's no way out in a lifetime. Even when the heir takes over usually he follows his father's footsteps. Apart from that, corruption is inherent in absolute monarchy like it is in ME because the entire state is considered as the private property of the monarch.

At least you have the option to vote this 'dictator' out of power, that is if majority of your countrymen share your concern but it looks like they don't. I used to be a very pro political Islam supporter but the older I get and the more of the world I see, I have come to the conclusion that there is only solution and that is a secular liberal democracy.
This secular Liberal Democracy will protect everyone of all religions, including Muslims.

They can only influence where Erdogan is in conflict with the other parties.

Erdogan cooperated with the Kurds until HDP got elected and stopped his previous attempt
of power grab. Then Erdogan made sure the Kurd conflict hottened up.
