The Formula1 in India

Whats the price of a ticket?

I checked some for Abu Dhabi GP, and it is way out of my reach!!! (atleast the one i saw)

As a F1 fan who has been to F1 races all over the world let me tell you that he prices are pretty much standardised with only minor differences in different countries. As the FIA take a set share there is little room for manoeuvre for the host organisers.

Are you sure?

In post 841, the tickets are around 3000-6000 range mostly, while the Abu Dhabi GP race has tickets of minimum 2000 AED.

Pretty much, prices will vary slightly but not hugely. Also make sure you compare like for like as you shouldn't be comparing a grandstand ticket to a general admissions ticket. As with most international media/sporting events though prices will be consistent all over the world and I believe the FIA/FOM.have pricing guidelines for organisers.

Not a race mate, purely a PR stunt.I imagine a race in that place would get pretty hairy!!

Yup, it will be shown in ESPN/Star sports.
i mostly see races on star sports but they take commercial brakes too much so i have to watch it online .

Anyone on here going to the Indian GP?
even if i want to will never get indian VISA due to lack of effective VISA policies of indo-pak .

i think it was a good opportunity for India to showcase yet again it's soft power to it's neighbors by issuing visas to all south Asian nations for the F-1, also keeping some amount of tickets reserved for them. Weather one agrees or not but the fact is that no other country can host such large sporting events like CWG or F1 in south Asia, so it would have been a good opportunity for people of South Asia to watch these events closer to there home, giving a positive image to India & in turn earning some $$$.
