The Fight against PKK Terrorism

By the way what's up with Bahoz Erdal? Hala tik
PKK terror organization commander Fethi Şarlatan seriously injured in operation

The so-called northern field commander of the PKK terrorist organization's armed wing, the People's Defense Forces (HPG), Fethi Şarlatan, was seriously injured in an operation in the Metina region of northern Iraq on May 28, according to information released on Thursday by military sources.

The operation came as a second major blow to the terrorist organization in recent days after reports suggesting former HPG commander and the PKK's third in rank, Fehman Hüseyin aka "Bahoz Erdal", was killed in northern Syria on July 9.

According to the military sources, Şarlatan was heavily injured in an airstrike conducted on May 28. Known under the code name "Sabri Başkale", Şarlatan was brought to a local hospital, where the security forces continued to stand guard over him.

He was transferred several times to different hospitals due to his serious condition, however it is being assessed that his last stay was quite long and it may be an indicator that Şarlatan could have died there.

Şarlatan was responsible for the last three years of constructing barricades, digging trenches, setting up explosive traps, and transferring arms, ammunition and other materials in the southeastern regions of Turkey, where the PKK resumed its 40-year long armed insurgency against the Turkish state since July 2015.

This successful operation against Şarlatan has subsequently raised fear among the members of the terror organization.

Within this year, Ekrem Güney, the commander responsible for the 'Central Region' and second in rank after Şarlatan and his aide were killed in an operation conducted in Lice district of the southwestern Diyarbakır province on May 5.

In another operation in the eastern province of Tunceli on September 16, 2015 , İsmail Aydemir, the alleged PKK member responsible for Tunceli, was killed.

The so-called northern region of the HPG consists of almost all of Turkey's northeastern, eastern, and southwestern provinces, including the provinces of Ağrı, Bingöl, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Hakkari, Kars, Mardin and Şırnak; in addition to the Amanos Mountains in the southern province of Hatay.

They should have raided the hospital and put the dog down for good instead of watching. But its good to see our airstrikes are actually finding their proper marks instead of bombing the cannonfodder or empty hills

Turkey imposed round-the-clock curfews on 16 villages in its mainly Kurdish southeast on Thursday as security forces tried to root out militants nearby and sacked two co-mayors it accused of supporting the fighters.

Authorities in the province of Diyarbakir imposed the lockdown as security forces searched for members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the hills and woods near the town of Silvan, the provincial governor said in a statement.

Security forces have been battling the PKK since a ceasefire collapsed last year, destroying a two-year peace process that was meant to end a three-decade conflict.

The government says thousands of militants and about 500 soldiers and police officers have been killed since the ceasefire broke down. Human rights groups say about 400 civilians have also been killed.

People will not be allowed to enter or leave the area near Silvan during the curfew, the governor's statement said.

"It is important for citizens to follow the ban for the security of their lives and property," it said.

New York-based Human Rights Watch this week accused the government of preventing independent investigations into alleged rights abuses during the lockdowns that include unlawful killings of civilians, displacement of civilians and destruction of private property.

Separately, the Interior Ministry ordered the co-mayors of the town of Mazidagi in Mardin province be removed from office, security sources said.

A prosecutor is investigating the elected officials' potential culpability after a municipal vehicle was allegedly used in a car-bomb attack on a gendarmes outpost that killed two soldiers and wounded another 12 on July 9.

In the past year, authorities jailed 22 mayors and sacked another 31 for their alleged support for the PKK in the southeast. All are members of a regional party, the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), which denies collaborating with the PKK.

Separately, the district governor in the town of Nusaybin said its four-month curfew would be lifted on July 19. Clashes with the PKK there ended on June 3, but authorities have barred residents from returning as they continued weapons searches and conducted cleanup operations.

It said in a statement 495 PKK militants were killed in the clashes. Officials previously said 70 police and soldiers were killed in Nusaybin, which sits on the Syrian border.

Turkish security forces (TSK) killed five PKK terrorists in an operation in the southeastern province Mardin on July 10, according to information released by military sources on Friday, among them was the so-called 'GAP-Ruha' commander Mahsum Ay aka 'Firaz Bagok'.

According to security sources, the terrorists were hiding in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin province and rested in wells at night. After receiving this information Turkish security forces launched an operation against the terrorists on July 10.

Known under the code name Firaz Bagok, Ay was responsible for many attacks and traps in the region, one of them being the mine trap at Siverek against a gendarmerie vehicle and the murder of the Sarıören muhtar Inco on the same day on February 28.

The other terrorists were 'Kurtay Birhat Feraşin' aka Yahya Yağmur, 'Welat Samsur' aka Mehmet Kulbay, 'Bingol' aka Mahmut Güçlü and 'Mordem Gelhat' aka Beşir Uca.

Hay masallah son günlerde gol üstüne gol atıyor TSK. Let'em burn.

I would prefer if it was "confirmed kill", which would mean we got the corpse in our possesion. But until then this is sufficient news. well done.

Well I wish Turkey was mostly interested of creating a strong military and economical relationship with Other Turkic States and add Japan and South Korea.. It would actually make us more stable. But to achieve this we need a leader.
That should be one of our main goal but its certainly not easy. With it you'll step on Russia's and China's toes, they didn't place armenian buffer state not for nothing between Turkey and other Turkic states. The occupation of the armenian pupits of some Azerbeijani land was to eleminate any direct corridor between thèse two related states.

Guys what happened to the southeast region any news from pkk? Its strange they are not active.

Can't we make our guys setup bases in caves and underground hideouts like the PKK instead of getting shot at and bombed with mortars from all sides? Terrorize the terrorists.
