The end of the deal, hopes, delusions and treasons

I read this in "Sputnik"..not sure if it is the case but not bad start if they really tie the "compensation and damages" issue to the US joining of JCPOA. But I also read Zarif wants "compensation as part of "Conflict resolution" which is out right surrender by Iran again if Iran destroys all its Uranium stockpile first and then "negotiate for damage compensation within JCPOA"..US in that case will Pay "ZERO" to Iran and give "CITIZENSHIP" to ZARIF and Family!..
I have included some major elements of the report: (sorry for rushed cut and paste job!!)

Iran Will Reportedly Issue Seven Demands to President Biden Before Re-Entering Nuclear Deal Talks

Diplomats from Tehran have spoken to officials within the Biden administration over resuming talks on Iran’s nuclear program and have reportedly set out seven preconditions, an unnamed Iranian government source told a Kuwaiti newspaper on Sunday.
Speaking to Kuwait’s al-Jarida newspaper, the anonymous official from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s office said that contacts began prior to President Joe Biden's ascension to office, and implied that they are continuing but unofficial.
According to the Kuwaiti report, the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht Rawanji was called to Tehran to arrange contacts with the new administration in Washington before returning to New York with a series of seven conditions for Iran's involvement in the resumption of talks over its nuclear program.
The first condition is reportedly that Iran will not accept partial sanctions alleviation, as Tehran considers the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to be indivisible. The report says that Iran will reaffirm its demands that the US maintain all aspects of the deal, including the total lifting of sanctions, as an essential precondition to returning to the agreement.
Secondly, any disagreements over the accords must be discussed within the framework of the official negotiating committees. One of these anticipated disagreements is Tehran’s demand for compensation for financial losses it incurred due to the Trump administration’s exit from the deal, notably the financial impact of the sanctions.
The third condition, according to the report, is that Tehran will not approve of using the terms of the nuclear deal to address separate issues, such as its missile program and activities abroad.
As a fourth condition, no new members will be permitted to enter into the deal aside from the existing P5+1, including any Gulf Arab countries.

Fifthly, concerns over other regional states must be discussed as a separate matter, and not included in the negotiations over nuclear enrichment. The next point is said to be that despite not being willing to discuss its missile system, Iran would find it acceptable to talk about arms control on a regional level with United Nations supervision, raising particular concern over Israel's missiles and illegally-held nuclear stockpile.

Finally, Iran will not allow a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, and instead demands a UN referendum that includes Jewish Israelis and Palestinians over the “land" issue. No further details on the content of the potential referendum were outlined, according to the report.
Rouhani will be issuing these conditions to the Biden administration directly, the report also said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a Foreign Affairs article on Friday that Iran will not accept any further demands, terms, or state signatories added to the original deal proposed by Washington in 2015. Zarif said that if Washington began by “unconditionally removing, with full effect, all sanctions imposed, re-imposed, or relabeled since Trump took office”, Iran would reverse the steps it has taken since the US withdrew its signature from the deal in 2018.

Iran is in a tough spot.

If it returns to the deal it will give up all the leverage it has created in exchange for minor Sanctions relief that will then return when iran refuses to leave Syria and negotiate on its missiles and end support for HZ and Houthis proxies.

I don’t see how Iran gets a fair deal out of this.

The leverage Iran created was solely for the purpose of surrendering it to receive sanctions relief. Particularly the nuclear domain. If Iran does not get what it needs, it will increase pressure in the region to get it. This could easily include a Houthi attack in SA or UAE or US in Iraq.

That would be an expensive leverage, probably more expensive than the relief.

What would a patriot do:

1- send the extra 2500kg of enriched uranium to lets say Turkey for safe keeping. That brings iran back to JCPOA compliance.
2- ensure All sanctions removed as per JCPOA text.
Negotiate damages with the US...when a final figure is agreed upon by both sides and deposited in iran account..ask Turkey to dispose of iranian uranium in the market.

The important point here is the direct tie between damage compensation $$$ and pounds of enriched extra uranium.

No destruction without compensation. Some one should tatto this on zarif forehead..lol

Why should Iran do this? Also why should Iran go back to JCPOA? Meanwhile all things can produced and implemented by Iran itself.

Brilliant idea. Send 2500 kilograms of enriched uranium, worth millions of dollars, to your neighbor that her interests have grown to be more divergent from yours day by day. That's exactly what a patriot would do.

LOL negotiate damages from the US? What fairyland are you living in?

US is slowly rolling back the Iranian nuclear program. No arak, no advanced centrifuge workshop, no nothing.

All of sanctions relief is temporary. Biden wants to keep “SnapBack” mechanism. Which translates to as soon as Iran does something that US doesn’t like it will reintiate the sanctions and Iran will be paralyzed again......this time with no leverage....again

All three of you are right indeed...I dislike the original JCPOA just as much as you do but my assumption was that given that original JCPOA is going to be reactivated so if that is the start point then what would a patriot do...and Turkey was just an example could be any third party country that both will trust.

No sanction was truly removed in JCPOA, nothing. Democrats still are dreaming of fooling the Iranians again without realizing their puppets are gone in Iran, no peace is on sight, at least not in current Biden government.

Well Iran must tie American returning to the deal to improving "DRM" paragraph in a way that what happened to it under Trump administration wouldn't take place again though it is all game of power and if it would be in the line of their interests they would not hesitate a moment to violate it again.
Right now it has no consequences for them to exploit it which is insane.

The problem with this scenario is nuclear program need uranium to proceed with its activity and if you send 2.5 t enriched uranium in return of money that you can not enrich then you get the job done which is shutting down the entire program ... Iran has always exchanged its enriched uranium with raw uranium in return .. even when JCPoA was being implemented under Obama administration England prevented Iran importing uranium though it was permitted under agreement ... that's why it is important to have a good stockpile of it.
Key part of JCPoA for west is its inspection regime which as we know 20% of all inspections in 2019 took place in Iran , if you really wanna pull the plug you gotta stop AP and return to NPT safeguard and picture them a future even without safeguard ... that indeed make them to say "Ouch" ...

For those that don't know what the JCPOA was for America and are having wet dreams about Iran going back to implementing its bulllshit terms and all that crap, here is the truth:

The ONLY reason the US agreed to sign that deal was the downing of the RQ 170 (by the Quds Force if you didn't know i.e: Gen. Qassem Soleimani).

The most important and secret term in the JCPOA was that Iran keeps the Data and the Technology acquired from the RQ-170 to itself and not share it with anyone (Russia, China, ...etc). (Iran got over 1 Million pages of data from the RQ-170).

After that Murica was able to do damage assessment and control of the RQ-170 downing, they simply left the deal.

So, long story short, there will be no deals between Iran and America, and after the assassination of Gen. Qassem Soleimani there is only death and blood.

It is not so easy as what you say. Right now it seems that the Biden administration is following a watered down maximum pressure policy but i expect them to crack and come to the table on Iran's terms after Iran shows 1 or 2 years of extra resistance.

As repeated a thousand times before, the US policies on Iran are bi-partisan policies. The United States will continue to act against Iran in a bi-partisan, harmonious manner. Granted, Biden is different from Trump. He won't try to directly provoke Iran or act overly tough to coerce Iran into submission, but he will pursue the same objective (weakening Iran and containing her regionally) through less aggressive means in the background.

The Iranian politicians should be smart and try to accumulate fissile material as much as possible and advance their nuclear and military technology maximally as they can. The Biden administration should give Iran 4 years of opportunity to buy time to progress in all spheres more than before. There's still a good chance that another republican candidate like Trump would pop out of nowhere in 2025. Iran should also maintain a diplomatic tone and tries to argue that it is ready to cooperate with the United States and the Western world after they have lifted all sanctions and have built trust with Iran. They need to prove that they're trust worthy. Now we all know that they will never do that, but it's an argument that can be used to buy time. Right now, after the failure of the maximum pressure campaign, the US struggle with covid, and Iran's recent nuclear progress, the clock is ticking in Iran's favor.
