The huge deal in Honduras, signed in December 16 between the two countries in the amount of about $ 300 million includes, as we reported in the past, the part of the establishment of a cyber infrastructure (about 50 million dollars) and about $ 209 million in upgrading the tools of the Air Force of Honduras.
According to Janes, the deal includes upgrading 10 F-5E Tiger IIs, two F-5Fs and five Cessna A-37B Dragonfly aircraft. The upgrade will be funded by Elbit Systems. The upgraded aircraft are expected to enter the service starting in 2019.
ElPais.hn added that the deal also includes a patrol boat (OPV) apparently manufactured by Israel Shipyards. As well as upgrading the aircraft to four Bell-412 and Tucano T-27 helicopters. According to the report, the deal includes a total of ten execution contracts.
Elheraldo.hn says the deal also includes two Elbit Systems' Seagull submarines.
