for this reason alone I always advocate the extermination of these pests. they have committed the biggest sin in terms of Islam by justifying their murders & terror as Islamic.

burn them, gas them & blow them up to set an example for all aspiring hate mongering fatwa sprouting wanna be Jihadis.

it is sad to express such violent & hateful comments but I dont think that people who dont think twice before slitting the throats of their captives & who throw acids on children & murder teachers deserve any sympathy.

50 terrorists killed in Aurakzai bombing
Tariq Saeed

Peshawar—Pakistan Air Force jet fighters and gunship helicopters on Sunday went for bombings on positions of the militants of Upper Aurakzai killing at least fifty alleged terrorists and wounding dozens others. Half a dozens militants hideouts and a training facility were destroyed during the blitz.

The security forces operation against the insurgents, challenging the writ of the government in Aurakzai Agency, has entered the third month with the forces establishing official writ in major part of the region. According to rough estimates the security forces during the aerial and ground offensives have so for mowed down more than 900 alleged militants with the independent sources saying a large number of civilians have also fallen prey to the incessant bombings during this period. More than a hundred hideouts and training camps of the militants, as the official sources claimed were also destroyed during the last couple of months.

The militants have been flushed out from major part of the Aurakzai Agency and were now on the run. However there are a number of pockets where they were regrouping and were offering tough resistance to the troops.

Reports reaching here from Aurakzai Agency say, the PAF jet fighters and the gunship helicopters targeted the miscreants hideouts in Kadezai, Momozai and the adjoining areas of the Upper Aurakzai Agency Sunday morning and destroyed at least six hideouts of the militants.

:sniper: I think the issue is of short sighted approach to the issue of hitting the target without much thought. In most operations one has seen the implications flare up later leaving the Army red in the face. I guess there is need for more ground action based on good intelligence to deal with the situation. This is a difficult task and easier said than done, but then there are no alternative options. The damage which such operations do to the psyche of the people is far more piercing and impacting than what it appears to be in the begining.

hopefully younger generations can lead the country forward; this is a dark, yet educational period in our history. Many good lessons are being, and will be learned

We have a bad habit of neglecting history. Now we will overcome this habit, and build this great nation.

Security Forces Kill 44 Militants In Pakistan

Up to 44 militants were killed in overnight clashes with government forces in Pakistan's troubled north-western region, reports said on Thursday.

Forty of them were killed in the Kasha area of Orakzai district where government forces are engaged in an operation to clear the area of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and al-Qaeda militants.

An unnamed intelligence official told media that troops targeted hideouts used by militants to launch attacks on security personnel. "According to our information, 40 militants were killed and another nine wounded, while two hideouts of insurgents were also destroyed," he said.

Major Fazal-ur-Rehman, a spokesman of the paramilitary Frontier Corps which is leading the push, confirmed the news but he put the death toll at 23.

In adjoining Khyber tribal district four militants were killed and two wounded when they attacked a checkpoint in the Jamrod area of the district which was repulsed by the troops.

"Retaliatory action by the security forces killed four militants and injured another two. Three militants were also arrested by the forces," a security official said.

The region is a major stronghold of Lashkar-e-Islam, a pro-Taliban group which carry out frequent attacks on NATO supply trucks passing through the area and despite the numerous offensives launched by the Pakistani Army, attacks continued unabated.

After Orakzai emerged as the new hub of militant activity in Pakistan's troubled border region adjoining Afghanistan following the exodus of militants from South Waziristan as a result of the military operation there, the Army launched a major push there in mid-March.

According to official estimates, around 800 militants and 18 soldiers have been killed in the operation so far. It is also key to the Army's strategy to effectively end the sway held by militants in the region and their "hit and run" tactics which has seen them launch crossborder attacks on NATO troops serving in Afghanistan.

The claims however, could not be independently verified as the region is off-bounds for media and aid-workers.

Until recently, troops have not carried out anti-terrorist operations in the region as it would have earned the wrath of powerful militant leaders based there. Besides, the military was apparently swayed by the fact that the militants there did not attack Pakistani installations.

In the aftermath of the recent botched Times Square bombing by a U.S. citizen of Pakistani origin, Islamabad has come under intense pressure to crackdown on militant strongholds in the semi-autonomous tribal regions in the northwest.
