I had joined this forum especially to enhance my english skills. The debate over topics and commenting is secondary for me.I read more and comment less as my post count suggests.

Whenever I see new words here,I note them in my notebook with their meanings, usage etc.
I have almost 200 words and phrases jotted down in the notebook, which I learnt here.
And I go through the notebook every few days.It has really helped me a lot and I have added many new words to my vocabulary.

So again guys and gals on the forum,Thank You.:thank_you2:

Most of us here are not used to being complimented, we thrive on malice .

Never realised our sparring was helping.

Appreciate your approach to self improvment.

Wel come buddy. You are right. Some members here are impeccable in using English words and phrases. Learning experience.

If you want to learn English, this may not be the best place. We are none of us native English speakers, so we make mistakes. Even in the four messages above, there is a horrible mistake. I suggest reading the Readers' Digest instead.

Correction: even in the five messages above, there are two horrible mistakes.

Thank you for your advise sir,but I am not a mug in english.I can make out which sentences on this forum are grammatically and stucturally correct.I concentrate more on the vocabulary not the grammatical parts because I am pretty good at grammar but I lack the art of ingenuity when it comes to forming sentences and paragraphs.

I want to be able to converse in english without halting for even a second, to think for words.

It reminds me of a quote,"Scholastic learning and polemical divinity retarded the growth of all true knowledge."

Keep learning and your mind will stay young.Read good literature. You'll see the most important words spelled correctly and used in context. While PDFing can be done at your leisure.

I am glad to read your comment, and feel very encouraged. All the more so since we have native English speakers among us, which I did not know, unless the reference is to the rare Englishman, American, Australian or Canadian who strays in here.

Incidentally, you might want to use 'advice', not 'advise', which is a verb.

Stuctural?
