Modi took over in october of 2001 - so he was CM for only 3-4 months. for that matter - that is no experience at all - since he never had any kind of political position before that. neither politics was his family business.

Instead of being defensive about it - be offensive and narrate what he did during riots. The work

even during the british rule no rulers tried to quash the riots so passionately as modi's govt did.
but still riots continued and people died. He did whatever he could and no one can ask for more.

1) within 6 hours of starting of riots he sent a fax to Vajpaayyee and defense minister Fernandise that
he needs army - he can not contain the riots. Army was walking on streets of Ahmedabad by noon next day
or day after. since govt had to pull the army from kargil front

2) official record suggests that more then 150+ people died in police firing of which around 85+ were Hindus
and 60+ were Muslims. Here again more Hindus and not Muslims were killed in Police firing.

No time before so many casualties happened by Police force of either any state or central govt during riots starting
fro 1876. it may be reminded that ZERO person was killed in police firing during Sikh Genocide in 1984.

3) There were 9% muslims in the state and 85% hindus in Gujarat state. total casualty as recorded by home dept of
central govt was 1000, of which 750 were muslims and 250 were Hindus. Add 60 Hindus burned in the train
so 310 Hindus. That is more then 40% of the casulaties were done by just 9% of the population. Meaning if the ratio
is taken into consideration - Many folds more Muslims took part in the Rioting in % of the population of the community then Hindus.

Can you imagine the rate of fatality of Muslims if 50% of Hindus were out on roads with Govt machinery behind them?
Can you imagine even one hindu getting killed - when there are 85 hindus for every 9 Muslims and also entire govt machinery along with Police force is with them? There is no chance a single hindu can be killed by a muslim. We have an example set by Congress's machinery in killing of Sikhs in Delhi. Whereas Sikhs are much more well built then
Muslims of Gujarat and still all of them had to flee for life. That was State Sponsered Terrorism and not Gujarat.

SIT was right in its judgement - bcoz it had stats available to it - what can happen in a State Sponsored Genocide. Delhi, Bhagalpur and Kashmir example can open anyone's eyes. And those who can think rationally can come to the same
conclusion as that of SIT.

Yet, as far as Modi is considered, I don't think he consipiered against Muslims, It all happend spontaniously because of the train burning, after all HINDUS are also humans to have lost their temperment when seeing 56 karsavaks killed before their eyes. what ever happend happend for a reason to make both HINDUS AND MUSLIMS realize that harming one another will cause more damage then heal the wound.

Funny you say that, cause I have been accused of being a Congress supporter quite a few times, on this very forum! I am against character assassination, be it Narendra Modi or Sonia Gandhi.

I have no beef against the BJP personally-It is a great party that has helped uncover some of the biggest scams to plague India...
It is the thought of Modi in the top office which scares me, and given the fact that Modi is the most popular BJP leader by far this is very much possible if they come to power in 2014...
