DRDO has been working for some time on gas delivery canisters that can knock out such assailants and take them alive.

They are usually based on Fentanyl derivatives, Carfentanyl or Sufentanyl. They have very strong anaesthetic effects and can even put large animals to sleep.

Problem is, the dosage can sometimes be fatal and hence not a great option to use in hostage rescue situations.

You are a doctor right ? What do you guys use for general anaesthesia ? I had to undergo a surgery once, but I don't know what they used on me. They told me to count upto 20, I remember doing only upto 7 or 8, they later said I had gone upto 14.
