Terminal velocity: China tests world's longest high-speed rail line

what do you want them to say? they had never have a chance to see a real high speed train.not to mention having an experience of HSR travaling.it is far from their real life.

Untrue...I have traveled in them on my visit to china...why would we say bad things on HSR. Infact many Indians here in PDF have travelled in them.

If Indian members do not say bad things about this rail system, why would some chinese members bother to generate a fight??? Some people's mindsets are just too crooked to be normal.

There are always idiots who do that: Praise our Chinese achievements (that is fine), but always bring in india in the topic and make fun of india's poor infrastructure (that is purely out of idiocy if there are no india members who made inappropriate remarks at first)

Actually, "inappropriate remarks" from indians are everywhere in this forum, only if you're not too blind to see.

Plan of High speed rail

Will it be expanded from east coast all the way to the western end of China? that would be very cool.

The 2nd(from top)lateral line in blue will be extended to Urumqi when the sections linking Xuzhou(a station on the Beijing-Shanghai HSR)and Zhengzhou(a hub on the Beijing-Guangzhou HSR)in the east and Lanzhou and Urumqi in the west are completed in 2015 and 2014,respectively。

I do not think you understand what I am saying. Pay attention to the words: "at first".

There are idiotic chinese members who made fun of india's poor infrastructure or other stuff before any indian members even made any bad remarks. Such behavior is not necessary at all.

CHINA has marked the final days of 2013 by opening a number of high-speed lines in various parts of the country totalling 1501km.

The southeastern coastal high-speed line from Shanghai via Ningbo, Wenzhou, and Xiamen to Shenzhen has been completed with the opening of the southern 502km section from Xiamen to Shenzhen. The maximum design speed on this corridor is 350km/h north of Ningbo and 250km/h south of there.

The final section of the 2078km east-west high-speed line linking Shanghai, Wuhan and Chengdu was opened on December 28 following the completion of the 264km 200km/h link from Lichuan to Chongqing.

The 455km Zhengzhou - Xi'an high-speed line was extended a further 148km west to Baoji on December 28. These are the first two sections to be completed of a 1363km line with a design speed of 350km/h linking Xuzhou, Zhengzhou, Xi'an and Lanzhou. Construction of the entire line is expected to be finished in 2017.

The Guangxi Coastal Railway in southern China has also been opened. This 261km line, with a maximum design speed of 350km/h, links Nanning, Qinzhou, and Fangchenggang with a branch from Qinzhou to Beihai.

Two other lines opened on December 28: the 103km 250km/h Maoming – Zhanjiang line, and the 223km Liuzhou – Nanning Intercity Railway with a design speed of 250km/h.

it's today's yahoo headline news with a top large picture, hundreds of comments after this yahoo news,it seems it becomes a huge news in US,Check it out.

World's longest fast train line opens in China - Yahoo! News

Not really. The US simply isn't into trains. We fly or drive everywhere. My guess is in China with auto ownership skyrocketing and more and more airplanes being purchased you'll also start seeing train ridership go down.

You can cover 2000km in about 3.5 hours by plane.
