KABUL: Hundreds of Afghan university students in the eastern city of Jalalabad took to the streets on Monday to protest the building of a Pakistani military gate in what the Afghan defence ministry says is inside Afghanistan.

The incident is the latest in rising tensions between the two sides, whose attempts to lure the Taliban to the peace table have stalled amid their feuding.

Pakistani support for the Afghan peace process is considered essential because of the two countries’ long, porous border and Islamabad’s history of supporting militant groups.

The protest was sparked by a statement on Sunday by Afghan President Hamid Karzai who ordered his top officials to take immediate action to remove the gate and other “Pakistani military installations near the Durand Line”.

The Durand Line is the 1893 British-mandated border between the two countries. It is recognised by Pakistan, but not by Afghanistan.

Afghanistan maintains that activity by either side along the Durand Line must be approved by both countries.

“Establishing a gate by Pakistan on the Durand Line and inside Afghanistan is against all international norms,” Afghan defence ministry spokesman, General Zahir Azimi, told a news conference on Monday.

“We will use all options to remove whatever they have built,” he added, without elaborating.
That came on the same day as university students in the Surkhroad district of Nangarhar province demonstrated against the Pakistani gate.

Chanting “death to Pakistan”, “death to ISI” and “death to (Pakistani President Asif Ali) Zardari”, the students marched from Nangarhar university and blocked the main highway between Kabul and Jalalabad for about an hour.

Pakistan cannot live in Peace until it annexes part of Pashtun majority and encourages Tajik and Uzbeck majority areas to join their respective countries as well.

from where???afghanistan.. and about the tajiks and uzbeks, where are they in majority in pak??and by joining,do u mean giving away your land??

We'll annex your pathetic akhrot country alright :P

Actually looking at your post counts i was not expecting this type of reply from you, please no offence. Pakistan is not stable to go in afghanistan and do a military adventure there and to be honest our army cant do it, infact no Army can do it.

Sometimes it's worth it ;)

Besides, he's a pathetic false-flagger anyway.

And what to do with those pakhtun areas of Afghanistan? Drop bombs on them...their entire ghilzai belt is more dangerous than waziristan, and they are not slave-minded people, they would percieve you as kalay angraiz.

And Afghanistan finally tries to push the Durand line issue, something we knew they were going to try one day. The hatred the Afghans feel for us is hard to imagine. Truly they wish to destroy Pakistan.

We are going very well. Frame Nationalists on false charges of terrorism, leave Mangal Bagh and Hakimullah Mahsud to their own machinations, Afghanistan attacking us at the border... amazing. Pakistan is not headed in the right direction.

I don't know why the government does not try to finish off the Taliban and the problems we face once and for all. What are they doing for godsake. Finish the Taliban or everyone will treat us like a joke.

so you really think that PA is building gate inside Afgaanistan?
Lolzzz :rofl:ツ:pop:

I'm from Punjab, and I don't know if I would mind seeing Pushtoon majority areas becoming annexed and become separate from the rest of Pakistan.

So if you mind taking your A$$ away we dont needs such pathentic thoughts

Taqat ka nasha makes one blind. Pakistan and Pakistanis consider Afghanistan very weak country, consider them dependant on them, with such mindset it is not surprising they didnt cared to check out on map at which exact location durand line is running.
