If you dont want to believe that auranzaib didnt construct this temple then dont believe but how can you believe that he destroyed temples on what historical proofs.

A simple google helps some times.

PS: I do not buy any comparison between Aurangzeb and Ashoka and find it dumb to do so. Aurangzeb never felt slightest shame while destroying Hindu temples, one after another through out his life. Just building one temple does not make him great tolerant emperor.On the other hand a single war turned Ashoka to a himalayan figure that will be respected by all the peace loving people of this world forever.

Aurangzeb destroyed the Kashi vishwanath temple of banaras, the most sacred temple of Hindus.

The analogy will be destruction of Mecca and Medina for muslims or destruction of Vatican city for Christians. Wonder what will be reaction of muslims or christians?

Aurangzeb was biggest mass murderer of Indian history (for Pakistan, it may be other muslim invaders like timurlane and others) and he single handedly destroyed Mughal dynasty which could have given tough times to european powers to conquer India.

Here it is,
After the reintroduction of Jaziya by Aurangzeb, the chief cleric of Surat become notorious and started terrorizing people. He issued a decree pay higher Jaziya or convert forcefully, many of the inhabitants of the city went into hiding.
