0. A squadron needs at least 12 planes. JF-17 didn't get IOC till February 18, 2010 when 12 planes formed the first squadron.

Their is no single report which says JF-17 got FOC , Even F-35 will not get till 2017-18 and won't even fire its main Gun till that period shows how IAF has different benchmarks .

Tejas Flies with everything Jf 17 flies now but our Airforce taking its sweet time to get it inducted.
FYI,Tejas FOC which is due for Sept 2015 is equivalent Jf17 Block II configuration.

With a radar range yet of 50 km .. yet to be increased due to faulty design.
AoA of 22.. yet to be increased to 24

And so on.

As for FOC... Pray tell when this masterpiece of technology will actually be inducted? 2018?19?20?

By End-2015, the FOC will be completed, and the development of Mk.2 will be started

First 20 IAF induct as IOC standard and be given to TACDE, Gwalior, where it took two years for creating new tactics for Tejas, and other 20 will be inducted as FOC standard . Possibly 90 will be inducted as TANDEM seater for LIFT.

One thing I want to say for IAF, FOC never going to achieve before 2018. Because IAF gonna need to upgrade bases and Q&A team, tactics for Tejas, creating logistics, maintenance department etc.

The FOC on other hand will be completed by DRDO by firing Derby.
