It is their country, they can do what they like.

That being said, Islam tells you what is mandatory that should be followed, otherwise you have sinned.

But it needs to be something you do from your own free will, not physically forced by others.

You have flaw logic. You need to understand the concept of Tauhid in Islam first. In Islam it is important to have clear intention in doing our religious practice. It should be for God only, not to obey our government.

And no, Burkha and Niqab is not mandatory. Hindu like you better dont comment on this matter since you dont have knowledge in Islam.

In Islam, we have small sin and big sin. Not wearing Hijab is not considered as big sin. Killing, Zinah, stealing, Sirik, etc are big sin

Hijab is mandatory, but the regulation is in private domain, the same like praying 5 times daily. Government cannot intervene. Wearing Hijab for women is a way to be closer to God, something positive
