TAI Hürjet fighter to receive EJ-200 turbofan engines

The evolution of Hürjet is already in progress. Hurjet was a light jet trainer concept so the first dynamic performance figures was lower at the beggining of program. Later, It is considered to improve the thrust ratio and a new engine solution (F404) which has a power of 17000lbf selected. Changing politic climate effected the roadway so Turkey has rejected US engine and selected an unknown engine supplier (19200lbf). At present, TAI signed a deal with European powerplant supplier to integrate EJ-200 engine (20000lbf) for HurJet.

its going to be a very very agile jet with that engine.. it can also export a lot to other countries..

cinsidering that ej-2000 also is the best engine with power to weight category, it will be way better than Saab version which Brazil urchased

just imagine that its also thrust vectoring vetsion which was offered to Grippen before, it will be my favorite project these days.. if Turkey use ej-2000 for both Hutjet and TFX, BAE will be more willing to share technology or no restrict in export.. may be it was all thought long time ago and thats why BAEis part of it

but one question is f414 engine has 22000 pound power right? is it stronger than 20000 pound ej-2000 engine?

Hürjet will be the most powerful jet trainer in the world till someone will put f414 into their trainer bird.

This is the second application of EJ200 after Typhoon and the first as singular powering aircraft which needs a new FADEC application (by whom?).

When deal signed? I mean time of that

i believe it would sell more as a light jet like Gripen NG, wish aesa radar. latest targetting pods, air to air missiles and so on... Some countries doesnt expect more than that to be honest. Azerbaijan and most of other islamic countries are like that. Indonesia, Malasia, all will look for a cheap maintenance cost

It has comparable engine thrust but what about it's speed?
Mirage 2000-5: 2,2 Mach
Gripen NG: 2 Mach
HürJet: 1,4 Mach

TAI expected that it will reach 1,4 Mach with the "19,200lb" engines.

Go big you will have muslims air forces around the world lining up to buy this to get away from traditional jet producers.
