There was no black smoke seen from JF-17 on 23rd March fly past.

Yeah it matches with TAI's brochure, it's likely the RD-93.
F404-GE-102 too weak and EJ-2000 slightly too strong.

But what i don't get is... if the RD-93 is able to reach 1,6 Mach why is Hürjet restricted to 1,4 Mach?

This is same engine used in JF17 and i think it is due to air frame restrictions.
