T-129 - Pakistan signs biggest ever defence exports deal of Turkish history

Our neighbors will have to announce 10 billion dollars of contracts for more anti aircraft weapons, tanks and more machines to develop new strategies for deploying armor assault. Good deal 1.5 bln will force them to inject 10 bln

.
1.5 billion dollars for 30 Helis ??? it translates into 50 Million per copter...

Reasonable purchase congrats

  • 500 Million for Choppers (17 Million per craft)
  • 500 Million for Weapons
  • 500 Million for Infrastructure/Local Helicopter Facility

We need to retire our 1970 Cobra fleet so makes sense to replace those old birds

Our Losses on WOT would have been less had we operated 150 choppers around border zones

.
It means once the assembly line is setup and basic infrastructure along with initial batch of workforce is trained then the per unit cost of the follow on order will be reduced significantly, in this case its a good deal...Congrats to all Pakistanis...but my question regarding delivery of these choppers remains unanswered.

. .
I hope they sign this ASAP, that with the Zulus makes for a killer fleet.

The US Department of State has approved the possible sale of 12 Bell AH-1Z attack helicopters to Bahrain.

Worth an estimated $911 million, including training and support services, the deal is being concluded under the Foreign Military Sales process.

Munitions including Lockheed Martin AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and BAE Systems Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II guided rockets are also listed in the approval notice.

If concluded, the deal would mark only the second export sale of the AH-1Z Viper, with Pakistan having committed to acquire 12 examples.

Bell had previously hinted that Manama was a likely customer for the Viper, pointing to its existing fleet of 22 older-model AH-1s.

Weak political and military didn't put pressure on the yanks to give the equipment needed for a standoff war thus minimising casualties. On the other hand now we have battle hardened army

.
with TOT ... its a good news ... and we should not be short sighted this deal could further strengthen the ties of both countries on commercial basses on the other hand turkey can use these funds in R&D for other projects of mutual interests.

Pakistan's relationship with Turkey NEEDS to reach the same level as we have with China.

. . . .
I would imagine the break down is approximate in nature Helicopters are normally cheaper vs Fighter Jets. But imagine weaponry does have to be bought as well

.
Oh sorry I got it mixed up, the first three have been completed i.e. built.

But here it says that the first three will would have come by now.

The United States will deliver three Bell AH-1Z Viper twin-engine attack helicopters to Pakistan in 2017, according to U.S. media reports, part of a total shipment of 12. The first batch of three helicopters will be delivered in 2017, whereas the remaining nine will arrive in 2018, based on information obtained from Bell Helicopters by aviation journalist Alan Warnes.

All deliveries by August 2018?

All aircraft, including those ordered in August, will be delivered by August 2018, those respective contract announcements state.

Pakistan order additional 9 as well and it will take fleet upto 24

.
Aren't we getting excited to soon? Let it get an official touch and then start celebrating.
Are these 30 helis enough to replace our entire cobra fleet?
Don't u think in current scenario I mean WOT we need solid no.s of helis ?
30 helis from turkey
4 from Russia
And 12 from US which are very much doubtful are enough to replace our ageing fleet?
What about American engine?
Don't u think trump would try to stop it after all it's not like we are in best of terms with the US.
