ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has signed biggest ever defence deal of Turkish History.

Turkey will export 30 ATAK helicopters to Pakistan after both the countries signed a $1.5 billion deal, reported *Yeni Safak <link>* .

The deal is Turkey’s biggest defense export in history. According to Turkey’s Undersecretary for Defense Industries Ismail Demir, the deal would be officially announced next week.

In November 2017, Pakistan’s defense minister said that 90 percent of the sales period of the 30 ATAK helicopters and four warships was completed, and that the payment options were being worked on.

Turkish and Pakistani heads of state are expected to officially sign the deal at a ceremony.

As per the news report, the “T129 ATAK" Multirole Combat Helicopter has been optimized for specific hot & high performance requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces.

The tandem seat, twin-engine, NATO-interoperable attack helicopter is optimized for attack, armed reconnaissance, and precision strike and deep strike missions at day and night in all environments and regardless of weather conditions

But here it says that the first three will would have come by now.

The United States will deliver three Bell AH-1Z Viper twin-engine attack helicopters to Pakistan in 2017, according to U.S. media reports, part of a total shipment of 12. The first batch of three helicopters will be delivered in 2017, whereas the remaining nine will arrive in 2018, based on information obtained from Bell Helicopters by aviation journalist Alan Warnes.

as you know its already june and no delivery ...= blocked

the reason why there is hush hush is that probably we are still negotiating and.no body wants to stir the pot ....once we know it wont happening than.everyone will know like the f-16s were blocked as per foreign minister (regardless of what people say he is more reliable than sources claiming otherwise )

.
with TOT ... its a good news ... and we should not be short sighted this deal could further strengthen the ties of both countries on commercial basses on the other hand turkey can use these funds in R&D for other projects of mutual interests.

i have tried to figure out but failed / why no AA missiles on T-129 ?
sir..
