I saw a video of a reporter who was abducted by FSA,and how one of their members tried to rape her and how they think,by fighting Syrian army,they are going to 'Jinnah'.this is their nature.these are not freedom fighters,they are another alQaeda,the only difference is,this time,they are 'good' terrorists.

First...
An answer to your question, why doesn't he step down for the sake of his people? because it wouldn't make much of a differance, if he steps down, the Military and population have to fight the agressors alone but without an organised body.

If the government was killing its own citizens, the country wouldn't be protesting in favour of the government in the 100,000's and millions.

Trust me if the majority of Syrians rose up Alasad wouldn't last a minute in his office, no one can overcome the power and the will of the people, however Syrians love him and want him. So now Syria is fighting world terrorism, that terrorism is supported by the west, gcc, and etc.

Alasad is a real leader, he is not quitting his responsibility, it's his job to protect Syrians from those terrorists.
