China typically backs UN recognized government but in this case China backs Haftar against Sarraj to hurt Turkey because Turkey backs East Turkestan independence.

We were allies in the Great War but Turkey was neutral in the WW2 before the final days of the war. We have a troublesome and complex relationship. Sometimes we support each other, sometimes they put an embargo on us. The real reasons behind the embargos are our actions against the SDF (a.k.a the PKK) in Syria...
