Support Pakistan Hockey team

If there would b World Cup of cricket going to be held then there would b immense 24/7 media coverage, well wishes from every type of celebrities being popped on media screens, trends on social media with everyone opining there, biggest screens at different places being installed, discounts would b given to customers, heavy media advertising by companies ranging from tea companies to mobile & technological companies garnering their share in hysteria being created but it is very unfortunate to see that no even a bit coverage is being given to Hockey world cup being held in India.

Hockey which is our national game had enjoyed a very brightest era in past where v have produced remarkable players, amassed many world cups, fetched so many records, churned out asian type of hockey strategies, promoted this game of play in different parts of world, enthralled the whole generations so much that everybody knew and loved and envied our hockey players but nowadays we don't even know who really our hockey team captain is. Unfortunately, our hockey doesn't attract media attention except when a negativity is attached with this game. If you observe the SM handles of celebrities then nobody spares its time to even wish the team. So i am not here to debate on what led hockey here but i must say politcs has roots here as well like every Institution which can blame atleast one factor in its destruction i-e politcs. The main purpose of my post is only to garner some support for our national game from my respected colleagues, readers.

Hope you will not discriminate hockey by just ignoring this. I request you to at least make a comment wherever you have access to, Twitter, fb etc, do make comment for this splendid game so that the players who are playing over there in India with no moral support can find some solace in shape of motivation.

Hockey is so much more fun to watch as a viewer as well than cricket. Fast paced action pushing athletes to their limits. More importantly its an olympic sport meaning if we are good at it, we have a shot at winning an olympic medal and the world knowing your name. Win a cricket world cup and literally nobody outside South Asia cares.

Unfortunately few fans have much hope of our hockey team anymore including myself. We got Germany and Netherlands in our group at this world cup. Teams once below or our equals, but now way above our level. Hoping for a miracle though!

Its sad how standard of hockey have fallen so low despite being abundance of talent and the game being our national sports. The glimpse of the potential can still be seen (read Champions Trophy 2016) but what is required is some serious effort put in via PHF and government. With PTI in charge i was hoping for some serious attention towards sports, have not happened so far but its still early days.

The players lack job security, proper training and coaching facilities, some effort in this regard and we can become a considerable force in hockey once again. I hope the team will be taken notice of during the world cup by the government authorities and then something will be done about it!!

Hockey ruines it for itself when it decided to stop using grass and went for an artifical carpet which these days is Blue.

Hockey was played by the masses around the world because all u needed was the hockey stick, a ball and patch of grass to play on. as soon as the governing body decided to switch to a artifical surface the participation of the sport dropped down. there arent an artifical pitches for people to play and become good so no point playing hockey on grass as it will never get you any recognition of sorts as hockey on artifical pitch is alot faster then normal grass

yes but why not have complete school pitches with this type of pitches? there is no execuse given how far down we are since that ruling went in. here a lot of play is done on grass still and there are specific venues with astro. If they can splurge tonnes of money on sponsor ship on cricket; a fraction would have delivered turfs across huge spectrum.

We had glory but right now we may not be able 2 win but our team deserves every appreciation which one can givw with full-heart.
