Turkey applied for associate membership in the EEC back in 1959. It seems the AKP told the Europeans to stop dawdling and take concrete steps. AKP might have known the Europeans were just toying and wanted the matter settled one way or another, instead of stringing Turkey along.

Can you guys imagine a proud country like China, Japan, India or even South Korea waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting....?

Turkey has reason to be proud itself. It shouldn't have to keep waiting on the Europeans for so long, especially when ridiculous non-entities of Christian countries got accepted.

Dude they're looking at it from a Western Angle where Ministers resign even if they've bought a glass of juice on the Government's payroll (happened in Canada) !

Whereas we're looking at it from the Pakistani angle where even Presidents carry the Mr.10% nick owing to them, allegedly, taking a 10% cut out of every Project that happens during their tenure !

Perhaps, allegedly, much more than 10% if one accounts for that fact that the last Government took more loans in their 5 years than the past 60 combined without a single mega project to show for it !

So for us Erdogan is a God-Send !

And for them it ain't because Turkiye has never suffered the likes of our Governments !

You cant compare us to other countries from other continents.
We were considered the ''weakest link'' in Europe,the poorest country.
All this developement inTurkey started in the 80s(20 years before Erdogan),if you have a base provided for you in any field,its easier to go forward(economy,military,infrastructure etc..).
You should read how we came this far then you will understand.
It was Turgut Ozal who had had it with the West and its sanctions,restrictions and treatment of our country,he started the reforms and so it started,the rise of the ''Sick man of Europe''.

I cant give Erdogan credit for what someone else started.
As you can see now,most of our former allies are turning into enemies,and the economy is declining.
He is not a proud Turk,he is a traitor and he will be dealt with.
Why you ask?
You cannot come to the parliament of Turkey and say:
I AM A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FROM KURDISTAN(DOGISTAN).
