BRV is Under-powered which in turns give bad fuel economy.Honda BRV is a nice suggestion.
Honda city is great in economy and power because with 1500 cc and 120 Bhp, it has good power to weight ratio which gives good acceleration with 2-3 people and decent acceleration with 5 people. Now put same engine in BRV, heavier 100 KG at least minimum. Put 7 people in it and switch on A/C, the engine will scream if you rev it and drink fuel.
Suggestion needed to buy a car In Pakistan for the family of 3 which can go long distance and some hilly areas as well.
Go for 1300 cc or less if you can.
New options are Honda City and Toyota Corolla GLi.
Otherwise lots of Japanese 660cc and 1000cc options like Passo, Aqua etc.
In 1.3, Honda City is 100 Bhp and Corolla is 85 Bhp. Problem with City is stiff suspension. 3-4 people in car and it will touch on speed breakers. Corolla is expensive but comfortable than City and height is better than City.
City 1.5 will have more power and options.
1600cc. Corolla 1.6 is really good. Fuel economy of 1.6 and 1.3 doesn't have much difference, 1.3 is economical.
Older Civic's , pre 2006, which are 1.6 are also very good in power and comfort.
1800cc. Altis and Civic will drink fuel like anything. Put on Eco mode and you may save on fuel. Otherwise comfort and power (135 and 140 Bhp) are excellent.
If you want to go for SUV, go for Late 1990's Prado, they keep going and going. 1KZ 3000cc diesel is an awesome engine. Prado parts are cheaper than Land Cruiser. Don't go for Surf, chassis will be of Hilux and body change issues.
Jimny and Mini Pajero , you will waste your money.
Stay away from Suzuki.
