SU 30 crashed near Jaisalmer

if su30 is a soft spot for us, jf17 is a hell hole for you guys :woot:

Nope JF-17 is 2nd tier aircraft in PAF with 15Mil price tag.
We don't exaggerate our hardware like you people do, when they crash its huge disappointment.

IAF need to take it seriously , i think it is lack of maintenance check . In 42 years of Bangladesh Air force history only 1 Aero L-39 crashed and another Aero L-39 needed emergency landing in India. Those are really old category aircraft compare to India (In fact entire Bangladesh Air Force Aircraft).

Bangladesh airforce.............................. , What is that ........?

the part of mighty Bangladesh armed force which Indian media (idiot) thinks also a threat for India.

Thats true since 1997 when first Su 30 started arriving this is third crash only and for a fighter this advanced, it is a remarkable feat.
Also, the current lot of 42 fighters had accounted for two previous loss and hence effective loss is only 1 MKI as the things stand now.
Please remember that eventhe finest of machines malfunction and unless report on inquiry arrives, let us not blame anyone.
We must thank God that pilots are safe, for additional few miilion dollars there will be a new MKI in sky very soon, but the same is not true for pilots no matter how much wealth a country has.

Again if 4-5 MKIs were crashing in an year, that would make MKI worse than vintage Mig 21s. Its a hyperbole nothing else.

Did not understand the bold part. Can you please explain. Do you mean advanced planes should crash more frequently than low tech fighters.

I thought main reason for crashes was maintenance related issues, pilot error or accidents.

Those Indian members who want to compare Pakistan crashes history with indian crushes history
Indian Air force 300 Fighter jet has crashed since 2000
where PAF around 20-30 Fighter jet has crashed since 2000

In your fantasy maybe. I you dont have any sources, better be silent, you are making a fool out of yourself with your conspiracy theories.

Atleast four have crashed so far:

- 30 April 2009, in the Pokhran region of Rajasthan, at Rajmathai village, around 170 km from Jaisalmer.
- 30 November 2009, in Jathegaon, about 40 km from Jaisalmer after a fire warning.
- 13 December 2011, the aircraft had taken off from the Lohegaon Indian Air Force Base near Pune, crashing at Wade-Bholai village, 20 kilometres from Pune.
- 19 February 2013

@ejaz007, the thing to argue and note is that most IAF fleet consists of twin engine fighters (SU-30, MiG-29, Jaguar) where as all PAF aircraft are single engine machines, meaning no recovery or back up even due to a small glitch. Still PAF F-16s logged over 100 000 accident free flying hours expanding over some 14 years....keeping in mind that during that period, PAF F-16s were also flying combat sorties.

Heres what i meant. Prior to Su 30 MKI India didn't have anything of its class (Gen 4+ fighter) in its inventory. Now if an excellent track record of about 3 crashes only (unfortunate though) can be maintained over such a long period, it is indeed a commendable performance by pilots and maintenance crew.
As i said in previous post, let the inquiry get completed before jumping to conclusions. It could well be a case of random failure.
As for advanced planes crashing , even the almighty B-2 bomber has crashed along with accidents in topline aircrafts like Eurofighter and perhaps Rafale as well. It is a bitter reality that complex systems like a modern fighter have lot of interdependent systems may develop snags no matter however excellent the upkeep or pilot skills are
