Stalin killed Netaji, Subramanian Swamy says

You need to look at Habib ur Rahman Khan. One of the top 4 senior officers of the Indian National Army. Having started his career in the Indian Army, he served in the 14/1 Punjab. Captured in Singapore in 1942, he was inducted into the INA by GoC Mohan Singh. He went on to command the Nehru regiment (later reinforced to 1st Division), commanded troops at Manipur and Kohima as a secular member of the creme d'la creme INA leadership. After being recaptured by the British Army, he was tried for treason where Nehru and others defended him.

After Partition, this highly decorated and experienced Indian National Army War Veteran moved to Pakistan and was immediately tasked with taking over The Jammu and Kashmir State from Hari Singh's forces. Without approval from Gracey, he would spend next weeks preparing the mujaheedin forces, training and overseeing their equipment. In October he would personally supervise the mixed forces against the Dogra Army in Bhimber and captured it. He was the one who continued the Pakistani war from the ground, ironically using mujaheedin forces against the avowedly secular India, for whose cause he commanded a full division!

He was one of the closest associates of Subhas Chandra Bose.

@levina - Don't miss this.

When the Indian Army was divided , i don't think those officers were thinking like the politicians. those were just following orders. Using the term Mujaheedin for the NWFP tribes ?

Netaji-in-Russia-l.jpg

Latest revelation of a photograph of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose has once again rocked researchers and Bose-lovers triggering a vital question that whether Bose somehow reached Russia from Taipei even before World War-II was finally over! The photograph from Russian State Archive of Film and Photographic Document or RGAKFD, bearing a caption —“Subhas Chandra Bose during Second World War”, is actually scooped out by Dr Purabi Roy, a well-known research scholar on Netaji-Stalin era relationship.

The research strongly suggests that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a ‘war-criminal’ in the eyes of Axis Powers, was in the USSR during the Second World War. Dr Roy is the widow of former Rajya Sabha member Kalyan Roy (CPI), whose father Kiran Shankar Roy was the Law Minister of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy government. She was also a CPI member till early 1990s, and also held a Chair in St Petersburg University. Dr Roy revealed that "she had an opportunity to locate a unique photograph of Subhas Chandra Bose taken during Second World War." Dr Roy, who taught at the Department of International Relations under Jadavpur University for more than two decades, is a scholar in Russian language and history. She incorporated new data in her latest treatise, The Search for Netaji: New findings.

The photograph (attached herewith) shows that water room-heaters are in and around Netaji. These Water Room-heaters were in use only in the USSR at that time. She claims that if the photograph is scanned, it might prove that the photograph was taken in Siberia. Interestingly, during Stalin era Russian concentration camps were located in Siberia. According to Dr. Roy, the aforesaid archive had no photographs of any Indian nationalist excepting those of Mahatma Gandhi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. “Keeping in mind Bose’s Russian connection, I found the photograph very interesting”, she stated.

However, it might be too hasty to conclude that Russian ruler Josef Stalin had treated Bose as just another ‘prisoner’ in concentration camp as Stalin was well aware that Netaji had refused to let his Azad Hind Fauz (Indian National Army) soldiers fight along with the Nazi forces against the Russian army. A section of research scholars on the USSR’s role in the Second World War thinks that the Georgia-born dictator did want Bose to be handed over to the war tribunal.

Mystery over Netaji’s disappearance was first revealed by Satyendra Narain Sinha, who went to Japan, Taipei and China to follow the missing links. His article were publishes in a national daily in 1960s. But, Dr. Roy is the first who is claiming that Bose was in Russia. Reportedly Khrushchev had told an interpreter during his New Delhi visit that Bose can be produced within 45 days if Nehru wishes. But, that never happened. the Third Enquiry Commission on Netaji Disappearance, led by Justice Mukherjee, categorically announced Bose Bose did not die at the Taihoku plane crash in 1945 as there was no plane crash during that period in an around the air strip, now in Taipei. Thus the Commission had quashed the so-called urn of Netaji at Renkoji Temple in Tokyo, Japan.
It may be recalled that when the ‘news’ of Bose’s death in 1945 reached, Viceroy Wavell quipped, ‘I suspect it very much.” In 1946 Gandhiji also had said, “My inner voices” would told him “Subhas is still alive and biding his time somewhere”. The latest picture points to correctness of his Father of the Nation’s ‘inner voices’.

I know that part of the story. :-)
A True Soldier!!

Mountbatten was in love with his cousin Maria Nikolavena (Third Daughter of Czar Nicholas II of Russia). She was killed along with her family in 1918 by Bolsheviks.

Mountbatten remained in love with her for remainder of his life and kept her photograph by his bedside until his death.

Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna of Russia (1899–1918) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edwina Mountbatten probably had an affair with Nehru because Mountbatten could not satisfy her emotionally. As anyone who has been in love could tell, or what has been proven Scientifically (Zeigarnik Effect), a love which has not been brought to a final conclusion (either as a success or Breakup) is more potent and obstinate than even a successful one.

those were just following orders
Incorrect. :)

The Pakistan Army was commanded by General Gracey and he refused the permission to use the Pakistani forces to initiate the incursion into Jammu and Kashmir. The men who started the Kashmir Jang did so without superior's orders. After the initiation of hostilities, Gracey had no choice but to reinforce Pakistani positions with regular troops.

would told him “Subhas is still alive and biding his time somewhere
Must have been very scary for Chacha Nehru. :D

Using the term Mujaheedin for the NWFP tribes
Partly. The Afghan mujahids were one. There were other irregulars from Bhimber. Lashkars from Poonch, Dogra defectors etc - I am clubbing them all as their avowed aim was to establish Islamic rule over all of Jammu and Kashmir and overthrow Hari Singh. Since they were not officially 'soldiers', I am using the term Mujaheedin.

could be true...but dont understand why authorities think if ppl of India get to know that it was stalin who had ordered Boss's death execution then it it would spoil our relationship with today's Russia! Pathetic....

There were many freedom fighters like Boss who were executed to death by British, so dont we do any business with UK?

Boss is respected but he is history like many others, we should always have forward looking policy and learn from history...

@SledgeHammer

Netaji was supposed to be Yarkutsk prison cell number 45 ...I do not see any cell number . this does not look like Prison ...and Netaji looks rather content if not happy when the photograph was taken

Opps this does not look like Siberia also ....why netaji is wearing suit in Siberia ...ususally people have to wear three layers of clothes there ...and it does not mean three piece suit !!!

what is deemed as water heater ...could it be railing ?

is it possible that this photo was taken in Germany and not in USSR ....

why is that the suit shirt and the spectacle all match with photograph taken in Germany in 1941 ....

Hell even the door with 3 glass pane looks same .....Must be sheer coincidence !!!

But it is possible that I am blind and I do not see the truth ....

whoever made the phenomenal discovery of the Photograph of Netaji in Yarkustk priosn in Siberia was right .

may be Netaji had fashion fad to use same favorite suit everwhere ...from berlin he went to Japan then tapiei and then to manchuria and then finally he went to Siberia ..he must have carried his beloved suit and shirt and tie all along ...

and may he wanted to wear the same suit in frosting -40 Celsius temperature of Siberia....

it is possible ...why not ?

Everything is possible .

So if Stalin knew Netaji had not let his INA fight against Russian army then why would he get Netaji killed?
Confused!!

Two of the most accepted theories are:

1. Stalin jailed him or killed him because: a) Stalin was suspicious of him for his association with the Axis powers, b) Stalin just obliged British request to jail him.

2. Netaji escaped to Russia and from there he returned to India as Gumnaami Baba, he was in exile in Russia for some time. Justice Mukherjee of Mukherjee Commission constituted by NDA government thinks so, but UPA government rejected his reports, this was his off-the-record statement that I have posted earlier.

I have a dozen video on this.

3. There is a third theory that says that Japan handed over Netaji to British or killed him as a part of their surrender deal. It is well recorded that Netaji did not want to surrender along with Japan and his plan was to continue the fight, probably with the Russian help, Japanese knew that, probably British knew that also. Remember, none of the Netaji's associates saw his dead body, and there is no photo of his dead body. Though this is a less accepted theory.

Subhash chandra bose was nazi sympathizer; britain probably killed him for being holocaust related war criminal

The caption of the photo says “Subhas Chandra Bose during Second World War”, you could have saved yourself from typing all that. Best way to end all speculations was to release all classified documents related to this case, and all these are speculations, probabilities, possibilities, theories, based on comments and testimonials of persons and some circumstantial evidences, none of the theories ever claimed to be the 'Irrefutable hard evidence" that you are trying to portray.

Subhash chandra bose was nazi sympathizer; britain probably killed him for being holocaust related war criminal

Show me one instance when he "Sympathized" with Nazi ideologies.

I am just showing how misinformation spreads . the news paper and that scholar could have saved herself trouble .of writing this nonsense ..and you could have saved trouble of posting it here on PDF ..so I would not have to write the reposte .

It is exactly people like you who do not go into specifics ,do not cross check the references and post it without verifying ..spread the misinformation and add to the speculation ...

at least 2 people thanked you for posting that rubbish ..without realizing all they have read is utter nonsense ...
This is supposed to be major revelation by a research scholar ....???

it just took me few seconds to read through the whole nonsense that the article you posted conveys .

seems it did not occur to you ...

you are just busy in searching articles and flooding this thread ...with your ' discoveries '

do take time to ponder about it ...and think for a while ...before you go on rampage to post all the nonsense that is circulating in media ...at least you won't make fool of yourself .

when govt. said it can't declassify the files over its repercussions with ties of other countries, means something very aweful is there, ... so it can be really true if Stalin has killed netaji, and we don't want to mess indo-russia relations... anyway time has changed and circumstances too... so its effect gonna be more refined than coarse...
