Spain Central Gov. prepares military intervention in Katalonia

A train with some military material at some station at some (night)time, what does that prove?

I don't know the equipment of Spanish Police / National Guard in Catalonia. If there will happen violent protests, armored vehicles could support Police and Spanish National Guard. Remember Hamburg violent clashes, Police used armored vehicles to clear barricades.

The Catalans do have legitimate grievances (1). However a better solution would be an agreement over how Catalonia's tax money is spent i.e. let them keep a larger share of what they contribute. Going down the military route will only create "martyrs" which is exactly what the Catalan nationalist will want. Getting domestic and international sympathy due to military action will only boost the popularity of the Catalan secessionists.

Each year, it (Catalonia) pays about 10 billion euros ($12 billion) more in taxes to Madrid than it gets back, or around 5 percent of regional economic output, according to data from the Spanish Treasury. In contrast, Spain’s poorest region, Andalusia, receives almost 8 billion euros more than it pays in.

The Grievance is more, A LOT MORE than just money.

Catalan is the original form of Spanish Government, the Spanish we know today (Español) is not the same language Catalunya speak, and prior to Franco, Catalunya is the capital of Spain and the Official Government of Spain (the official government of Spain is formed by 4 Administrational Region of Catalunya and form a commonwealth. The modern Spanish we speak is Castilian

After Franco and Spanish Civil War, however, Franco Regime have seriously impede and repress the Catalunya and Catalan language, going so far to abolish the Catalan as the official Spanish Dialect. The Catalunya region only regain autonomous status after Franco Death and democratize of Spain in the 80s.

The problem is, since then, the power to succession is solely relying on the hand of Current Spanish Government, there aren't much the catalán can do, the succession movement is doomed from the beginning, because the only one that can give Catalan independence is the Spanish Government, that is the agreement Catalan had with the Madrid government. The general Spanish population do not see this movement in any form of Traction well, simply they can't even make a Binding vote on the issue. The Spain Central Government can simply laugh at them and tore up the "Vote" and say it never happen.
